Of these, Naughton was good. Davies was good at first then faded. Vitor people rave about as he's from a big club. He barely played. Bamba and Mills- you must be joking

you've set your mind that you don't like Sven and are being a stubborn *****. Sven's signings were decent, it just didn't work out

I personally think a wage cap of say 20ka week  in the championship wouldn't be a bad idea . Would cut down on alot of stupid signing like listed above . Would go along with FFP nicely .

But they weren't decent. Bar Nugent, Schmeichel and Naughton (who was a loan so doesn't count). You're right, I don't like him, haven't since he ruined England's best chance of doing anything in a world cup since 66. I knew he'd fail here, and he did. What I didn't expect was just how much of an impact he'd still be having here still. Disaster

The distinct lack of facts in this thread saddens me. :(

They weren't decent! Kasper has proved to be ok, as has Nugent. Naughton and Yak were both good loan signings (although I'm guessing we paid a lot for them) but other than that? He was a disaster, end of.

And don't even get me started on his decision to sell Hobbs for less than a million.

It was Pearson who failed to use Sven's players properly, just as he has failed with  those he brought in, due to his inability to bring the best out in those he brought in himself.

That's my view, like it or not, and that is why we wont get promotion, as long as he remains here.

Said it all before, so wont bore you further.  lol

I doubt Brian Clough would have been able to get anything out of most of the dross Sven bought in. Let alone Pearson

Sven couldn't even use Sven's players properly, never mind Pearson.

Was that when Big Sam tried to sign him for Blackburn? Yeah he was, something close to that anyway

Nigel wanted Lewandowski when we were in league 1. But Mandaric wouldn't pay the fee at the time which I think was around £2m. If we could of got shot of DJ Campbell straight the way maybe the move might have happened. But DJ was only shipped on loan at the time.

Good debate -we were in extremely deep doo doo(no pun)when sge turned up and sure it cost a few quid of someone elses money but the team got out of the mire and I quite enjoyed watching naughton, cunningham, even vassell and ricardo(until a cross came in).Its over now with a bit of a financial hangover but we have the mighty Badger to take us onward and upwards.

Said it before will say it again Sven had naff all to do with a players wages, contract, or terms of employment. It certainly would be done higher up and agreed to by the owners. Why people insist on blaming Sven I do not know.

The only interesting thing about this though is that he was fired on the back of a poor result at home to Milwall but also for purely financial reasons to get him off the pay roll.

And I will say it again, that any manager worth his salt will want to know what a player will be earning. He and he alone is in charge of things like squad harmony, if he isn't interested in the fact one player could be on 30k a week and another on 5k a week then he's a fecking idiot. If he isn't interested in how long a contract will be and how long that player will be expected to be part of the team, then he's a fecking idiot.

Sven also signed the duffers in the first place, had they been any good people wouldn't be moaning as we'd have an asset worth something. If he didn't think they were that good, or value for money then it should be his decision not to go through with it. As it is we were left with lots of useless lumps of shit on too much money.

Yes the board are also at fault, but seemingly suggesting Sven had nothing to do with it is ridiculous.

Lewandowski won't be going to Manchester United. He's signed a contract with Bayern which will take effect July 2014 or if Dortmund decide to sell to them this summer, which they have stated they absolutely will not.

EDIT: he'll also triple his wages at Bayern to €4.5m a year.

We are missing 1 key point here, if we had signed Lewandowski we would have probably turned him shit by crippling his self esteem and confidence overnight

Im forgetting Van Anholt what happened to him.Sven had everything to do with it but final say moneywise was higher up.It may be a hindrance now but at the time quite enjoyable.Bamba v man city anyone

lol lol So true...

Get fed up of all this 'it wasn't Sven' stuff. He's the manager ffs. When it's Sven, it's Neville's fault, but when it's a Pearson signing, it's Pearson's fault!! Manager is the manager, end of.

So what your saying is, that a team with some players earning a lot more than other players will lack squad harmony then?

I agree completely that creating squad harmony comes into the managers remit, but has more to do with collective man management coming from the manager, than the difference in players wages.

Like for instance, treating everyone equally, and making all the first team squad players feel apart of the squad, rather than getting the hump with some of them, and sending them off to train with the kids!

That is not going to do much for squad harmony.

When those players are being out performed by those earning less of course it can. It happens in every office around the country, why would it not happen at a football club?

I thought Vitor was a solid centre half, who read the game well, regardless of his club.

Been released now though.

I agree with the others though. Bamba lol I could rival him.

Wow, you could rival a player who played every single minute (the only player to do so) for the finalists duing the african cup of nations. Obviously though, thats no achievement I guess. Maybe you should get yourself down Belvoir drive,  NP  may find a role for you.

John Paintsil played at the African Cup of Nations. End of.

Maybe NP will give you a scouting role, because, obviously, if they've played in that competition then they should play for Leicester City.

Would you be happy with someone earning three times as much as you despite yourself clearly being the more productive worker?

It's just this feeling of being unfairly treated which creates tension, in fact, there's a fun video on this exact topic :D :

Congratulations,  a poor player to have played in the tournament. Difference is, Bamba was in the same team as the likes of Drogba,  Yaya Toure, Kalou, Gervinhio, Zokora..... It does make me laugh, that for all the people calling Mills and Bamba, that was the best centre half pairing weve had in recent seasons.
