surrifox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 not convinced- this bloke sounds like a bit of a nob
Guest MattP Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Stoke and Panesar in. Very dubious selections and a huge gamble. No idea what Ballance has to do to get in the side.
Corky Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Stokes is an odd choice, given Ballance's form and Bairstow's start. Amazed Taylor is not in the squad.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Good to see you picking a Kiwi in Stokes. Will be a road plenty of runs made on it in the first few shield games played there.
Guest MattP Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I'd imagine Prior gets bumped up. Terrible toss to lose. We need early wickets badly.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I'd imagine Prior gets bumped up. Terrible toss to lose. We need early wickets badly. The way we have been batting we could still be 5-40 at lunch regardless of the wicket. Meant to be a bit of moisture early from the over night rain first hour is important for us.

Wtf Graham Onions must be sat at home thinking I have no idea.
Captain... Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Wasn't exactly filled with enthusiasm with that selection, I can see them filling their boots against Monty and Stokes if they are not bang on the money.
Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 They should be able to get what they like here. We have tried to be too cute with selection, would rather have had Finn and Bresnan banging it in even on this pitch. Looks like we'll need at least a draw in Perth to avoid going into the last two needing to win them both.
Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Bowling looks ok from the main three. Anything below 450 would be a right result for us.
Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Pitch is turning a bit already. Flat as a pancake though, their literally hasn't been an edge all day.
Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Not a bad day for us but much better would it be had Carberry and Panesar held onto this two dollies..
Ross-Kemp Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Ah carbs ! Bread and butter catches they are.
Oasisedup Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 In a way it's made it more interesting that we lost the toss. Everyone's kept on their toes, waiting for the new English batting line-up to be tested. We'll have a much better idea of where the Ashes are going once we've had our first Innings.
Simmo86 Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Decent day. Could and should have been better but good comeback from us.
purpleronnie Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 won the day but I just hope we don't fook around with the middle order/tail and get them out for 350.
Nick Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 It'll all be irrelevant if we can't put a shift in with the bat this time.
Captain... Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 It'll all be irrelevant if we can't put a shift in with the bat this time. True dat! How is Stokes with the bat? seeing as he hasn't bowled much, I hope he is a batting all rounder.
theessexfox Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Woke up to Carbs' drop, not a terrific start to the day.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 December 2013 Posted 6 December 2013 Another ton for Clarke, the worse his back the better he plays. Had the potential to be a bannana skin of a first hour, so glad to get thru unscathed. Haddin giving a bit of lip to Stokes after his no-ball wicket Glad we have a bit of mongrel back.
