Anthony Knockaerts "Future"

Didn't want to start a new Knockaert thread so thought I'd stick it in here...

Is anyone else slightly worried about how he's started this season? Featuring rarely and also playing awfully for the development squad against Sunderland U21's?

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Knocky at all but it is very disappointing at the minute..

I'm worried, but bad spells happen to players all the time and it's only been a few games. I'm confident that he will get over it because has has the ability to.

His downturn in form couldn't have happened at a better time, I think. Keeps him out of the spotlight until around the time when the transfer window closes after obviously impressing last season.

He changed the game vs Wycombe and Leeds. Pearson has also gone on record to say he's got a massive role to play so i'm not overly worried. I don't like to hear about him not playing well in lesser games such as friendlies and reserve matches but he's not the first important player to do so for clubs. He's massively incosistent, hence why a player of such talent is at Leicester and not someone better. When he get's back in the groove and we give him a run in the team then I expect devastating results once again.

I was actually in the bath this morning, with the morning glory on full show, then I got thinking how good it would be if Matty Fryatt re joined Leicester City, but then it started to go down, then I thought about Knockaert, just after this time last year, I was getting full on erections for Knockaert's performances and goals, but now it just remained floppy, then it dawned on me, and it got me thinking, how shit will Knockaert be this season.

He walks around town with his phone(not Nokia by the way thank god) all cocky thinking he is the big all and end all. He plays like he thinks he is Lionel Messi but fails, just because these stupid 15-16 year old fans bumming him off on twitter...it's gone to his flaming head, all this fame has gone to his head.

He will go down hill now in my opinion, and he will do a Marshall and become shit.

I appreciate the fact that you're trying to improve your banter by imitating posters who do it fairly well. But it isn't working.

Didn't play too well last night in an U'21 losing side . Ever since he has chosen Gallagher has his club mate to cling to his game's gone down hill . Fact .

You do know that putting 'Fact' at the end of your obvious bullshit isn't fooling anyone don't you?

No mate.

That is all true what I put, no point lying, I was gonna make a thread about my concerns on Knockaert like Smithy, but I've been out since about 1.

Never gets played in position. Even at U21 level he ends up wasted out wide.

It truly does baffle me.

I simply think Pearson is playing a certain way.

The 'Pearson way' I think is the tough, defensively minded, grinding-out results type football. Every so often it all clicks and we go forward with real purpose. But generally, it's the tight, controlling type of game. That was why I surprised last season that we were going away and attacking. Unfortunately we were losing and I think Pearson 'reverted to type'.

Anyhow, why I say this is because I think Pearson is finding it hard to accommodate Knocky in this style of play. Knocky is a bit like Adel Tarrabt... Obvious skill and fair but begs the question 'where and how do you play him'? Do you play your game around him or not?

Therefore, you either side with Nige and his 'type' of football, or you become frustrated and shout 'what on earth is Knocky doing not playing'!!!

Knocky hasn't become shit. We all know he can show flashes of brilliance. But I wonder whether he just doesn't fit-in to Pearson's method of play this season?

We'll see what happens...

I didn't think he played that badly last night. Looked threatening and created the second goal. He did at times look lazy tho, don't really like seeing that in our players.

I just hope he gets back into the first team soon as he'll be a massive player this year.

Neil Warnock is the man who got the best out of Adel Taarabt - and I'd have said Warnock is even more defensive and gritty than Pearson.

Last years side seemed incapable of grinding out results, simply because they couldn't defend, especially from set pieces.

If Pearson continues to use Knockaert in a limited role, then he'll continue to get limited performances from him.
