Finnegan Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I personally feel it's time for a change in Flair's signature, with a French tricolour and the nogging of one wee Tony K.
Master Fox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 If Arsenal think Knockeart is the solution to their problems then they're in real trouble.
marbelladave Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I simply think Pearson is playing a certain way. The 'Pearson way' I think is the tough, defensively minded, grinding-out results type football. Every so often it all clicks and we go forward with real purpose. But generally, it's the tight, controlling type of game. That was why I surprised last season that we were going away and attacking. Unfortunately we were losing and I think Pearson 'reverted to type'. Anyhow, why I say this is because I think Pearson is finding it hard to accommodate Knocky in this style of play. Knocky is a bit like Adel Tarrabt... Obvious skill and fair but begs the question 'where and how do you play him'? Do you play your game around him or not? Therefore, you either side with Nige and his 'type' of football, or you become frustrated and shout 'what on earth is Knocky doing not playing'!!! Knocky hasn't become shit. We all know he can show flashes of brilliance. But I wonder whether he just doesn't fit-in to Pearson's method of play this season? We'll see what happens... All true enough Col, but playing without wingers or creative players of any kind is going to make the season a pretty long haul. The gritty, rather scuffling style with which we have started the season seems to be pretty 'old school' Pearson. We rely on pressure, getting the ball forward and working (and hoping) for the ball to fall kindly, as it did on saturday. Not pretty but working so far. Regarding Knockaert, everyone knows that Arsenal need a centre back, a defensive midfielder and a goalscorer so it is entirely possible that Wenger will go for another attacking midfielder, obvious really.
Tielemans63 Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Think it's simply a case of Knocky coming back from his summer break in the wrong mindset (and a bit out of shape). He was abysmal against Monaco and I think NP has done the right thing and made it clear that he has to be 'on it' if he's going to make the starting 11. I'm sure he'll get his act together soon enough. On the other hand I wondered whether getting married might have affected his form? Is Mrs K living over here? If she's not and is still living over in France then that might well be affecting him. Just a thought!
ADK Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Seems like he doesn't have the right mindset at the moment.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I said it before, and I will say it again. My belief is the we will sell any of our players, if the price is righd

Silverdaz Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 If Arsenal were to make a bid I think we would have to seriously consider it especially in our financial position, especially if he is unhappy as well
Ozwin Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 IN WHAT ****ING WORLD ARE ARSENAL MAKING A BID FOR HIM? Someone please tell me where we find these people?
Soar Fox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 It's because Arsenal usually sign young french kids If he was black Wenger would have signed him by now.
jonthefox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 http://metro.co.uk/2012/12/26/arsenal-mulling-over-shock-bid-for-leicester-star-anthony-knockaert-3329658/ Two things. 1.That reports from xmas last year. 2. That reporters barnet
gazlcfc27 Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I think what Knocky needs to do is copy Andy King,he bearly ever gives the ball away.He has mastered this in the last two season by rarely being in possession of the ball.

Ric Flair Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 I personally feel it's time for a change in Flair's signature, with a French tricolour and the nogging of one wee Tony K. Haha I need someone to make it for me!!
MrSpaM Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 If Knocky actually learnt how to keep the ball for more than a millisecond he might get selected. Been to every game this season and ive seen him do something useful once, and that was a bit of skill at Derby. People who are shocked at him not getting game time either dont go to games, or they must be blind.
ashfosse Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 We are valuing him at £6 million which Arsenal are unwilling to meet upfront. possibly looking at £2.5 mill upfront with future add-ons taking it upto 5.5 - 6 mill. You heard it here first.

Kitchandro Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 When he starts matches in his proper position and plays crap I'll start to get worried. We all know what he's like, he went ages playing shit last season as well, but he's capable of dominating matches as well. We can't play James, King and Drinky together all season, he'll get his chance when we need to be more positive and take chances. He's not going to show his best coming on as a sub in matches where we're away and defending a lead like Derby.
Finnegan Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Haha I need someone to make it for me!! 21CF, you've been summoned.
tommyh Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Dont really understand how anyone can critisize his form this season?? saying his mind isnt right etc thts effecting his performances?! Hes hardly even played, give the guy 2 - 3 full league games and he will still be the genius that we all know and love! He just needs time on the pitch (not 30 mins at the end)

I like Knocky but genius? Really? Calm down. I also think that NP has done the right thing by leaving him out because his form really hasn't been that great so far this season/pre-season. That will hopefully change and we will see a much improved player as a result. No individual has the right to automatic selection just because he is a fan's favourite. I am begining to agree with some of the previous posts in this thread: we need to keep our feet on the ground as far as this young player is concerned and, therefore, hopefully help him to do so to. I would hate for him to be spoiled by a belief that he is better than he is, that he is better than the team. Below is the OEDs definition of genius; I have highlighted a couple of the words as I think it might help: Native intellectual power of an exalted type, such as is attributed to those who are esteemed greatest in any department of art, speculation, or practice; instinctive and extraordinary capacity for imaginative creation, original thought, invention, or discovery.
MattyFromLE Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 For me Knockaert needs to improve his decision making. There is no doubting his ability and potential, but he needs to work on when he does a trick, or plays a simple ball. Bit of work needs to be done on his defensive game by closing down and tracking back. If he masters those, he could single handedly win us any game at any time. That said, that's why he's playing for Leicester City and not Barcelona - because he hasn't mastered those traits, yet.
