purpleronnie Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Giggs OG in last minute of first half. 1-0 Sunderland. Think they'll need at least a 2 goal advantage despite Utd not being great at home.
Matt Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Hope Man Utd lose and go out, I know it's over two legs, but Sunderland have to go to Old Trafford with atleast 2 I think. I like Man Utd, but don't like what Moyes is doing there, don't like how he's playing the team, don't like what he's doing with the team (on a whole), don't like who he is looking at bringing in/linked with, i'm all for giving managers chances and do think managers are got rid of too soon, but really not sure or keen on Moyes.
foxfanazer Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Great to see United in free fall. Long may it continue
Guest ttfn Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Giggs OG in last minute of first half. 1-0 Sunderland. There was only one side in that first half and they're 1-0 down
Donut Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 David Moyes is a genius. Tongue in cheek? Moyes is struggling, circumstances havent helped him either. Needs lots of time
Kitchandro Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Sunderland fans aren't that bothered about going to Wembley then. The place is empty. This competition really is a Mickey Mouse Cup these days.
Fox92 Posted 7 January 2014 Author Posted 7 January 2014 United fans sounding awesome. I agree... The atmosphere at Old Trafford is horrid (like ours really), but away from home they don't shut up. Songs are very good as well, not the standard rubbish.
Corky Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Bardsley celebrated against his old club after a goal he didn't even score!!! What is happening to being respectful? Man United will still go through.
Unabomber Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Bardsley celebrated against his old club after a goal he didn't even score!!! What is happening to being respectful? Man United will still go through. Based on what? Their great home record this season?
Corky Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Based on what? Their great home record this season? Just think Sunderland will run out of steam towards the end. Hope I'm wrong however.
Kitchandro Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25647570 Manchester United: David Moyes says team 'having to play referees' David Moyes claimed Manchester United are "having to play referees" as well as the opposition after watching his side's Capital One Cup semi-final first-leg defeat at Sunderland. The irony
Guest Gist Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25647570 The irony That is a ridiculous thing for him to say based on Yanited's recent history. It would be much better for him to focus on why the players that won the title last year are not performing, rather than looking to blame others for their form.
Fox92 Posted 8 January 2014 Author Posted 8 January 2014 Was never a penalty though. I know a lot of decisions went Fergie's way but that doesn't justify a new manager not getting them.

Don't like Moyes because of who the media decide to link him with?
Corky Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Sunderland did the right thing getting rid of Di Canio and bringing in Poyet. Poyet does have a shortish fuse on the touchline but seems more controlled and less egocentric.
Fox92 Posted 8 January 2014 Author Posted 8 January 2014 Are you joking? No. Why do you think it was? Didn't look like anybody touched him.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I've noticed in other sports like in Cricket and rugby, both have different competitions within there sport which seems to attract more interest in there cups than in there domestic leagues. Like in cricket they have twenty, twenty and pro 40 normally most cricket teams sell out!, rugby of course have both rugby union and rugby league but in recent years there's been alot more interest in rugby league. One thing I notice about twenty, twenty and rugby league is there both fast, exciting and also the rules are slightly different from there domestic leagues, (like in cricket you have a free hit and stuff like that) well about bringing stuff like that in the league cup. Like we could have Sin Bins (When given a yellow card the player must spend two minutes in the sin bin) Free offside (Both sides are given one free offside, when once they ball goes out of play the team can attack without worrying about being called offside. The team attacking have gone until the ball goes out of play) (a bit like the free hit in cricket) Reducing the game time (a shock in know but how about each half only being 40 minutes long) Referee isn't in charge of blowing for time, like rugby league the clock is like automatic, where a buzzer goes off when times up. Also no injury time, instead the clock stops if any stoppages. Also scrap extra time, if tied at the end move straight onto pens Also just one leg in semi's! Thoughts?

I think the problem with the cricket and rugby was that they are not attracting same kind of crowds that football can easily attract therefore they have to tweak their format to make it more fan friendly. With the football, I don't think we need any rule changes. We need a change in the cup competitions format more.
Dan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Sunderland fans aren't that bothered about going to Wembley then. The place is empty. This competition really is a Mickey Mouse Cup these days. Empty seats galore and a pin drop atmosphere from the home end (could hear the Man Utd fans clearly enough before someone blames TV acoustics). Fan culture's dying further every season.
