Webbo Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Sorry if it's mentioned but I couldn't see it at a glance and I wanted to get a message up quick as it's already started. Gary Lineker tracing his heritage around Leicester on BBC 1 atm.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 August 2013 Author Posted 21 August 2013 Pretty good this. I'd be bored stiffless if I had no interest in the person they were studying.
johnny the fox Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 hinckley was in depression in 1840's nowts fookin changed..
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 August 2013 Author Posted 21 August 2013 He could easily be the next 007 in that suit
Webbo Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Did anyone else think when they heard that Lineker's ancestor, a gardener's son, was sent to posh school by a rich benefactor ,I bet he was bumming him?
Kilworthfox Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Did anyone else think when they heard that Lineker's ancestor, a gardener's son, was sent to posh school by a rich benefactor ,I bet he was bumming him? No, maybe I'm the odd one out though...
Nift Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Did anyone else think when they heard that Lineker's ancestor, a gardener's son, was sent to posh school by a rich benefactor ,I bet he was bumming him? one of a few possiblities
Bayfox Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Lost interest the minute his family tree showed nottingham on it.
RobHawk Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 I heard he traced right back and discovered Richard III was a distant relative! More reason to keep him in Leicester!
melrose Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 If they went into real depth on this it would be a brilliant hours tv Why?
Fox92 Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 Pinched 6 chickens and when the police came round, 4 were in the pot lol Lineker was laughing and it was making me laugh.
pSinatra Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 Found it quite amusing when they were talking about a distant relative being a criminal like it was unusual & slightly interesting, when his own brother has done a stretch.
Zingari Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 He must have poaching in the blood .That's how he scored so many goals ( no doubt the jokes been done but i've not seen it)
Wycombe Fox Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 Gotta love a bit of Gary!! "He's after my crisps"
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 He really is a great guy, can tell he's smart and doesn't have a malicious bone in his body. Amazing how he seemingly has no ego either, and was genuinely interested in his predecessors
Solihullfox Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 Seems to be a genuinely nice guy who is pretty grounded despite his success. Has great cutting wit and some of his stuff on twitter is very funny, quite happy to take the pee out of himself. I met him at a corporate conference held at the NEC where he was the keynote speaker. This was a fairly large do with around 3,000 attending from the company I worked for at the time and the standing ovation and greeting he got when being introduced on stage was unreal. He also attended the evening meal held at the NEC and then went to the after party do at the Metropole Hotel. His driver turned up to take him home whilst I was having a chat with him outside the hotel but he said he was having such a good time that he sent the driver away and stopped for another couple of hours. He was happily signing autographs all day. Lovely bloke. Also recall he met my sister when over in France during the World Cup. She lives in Paris and happened to be in the same restaurant as the BBC presentation team which included Gary. She did speak to him as a Leicester fan and got him to sign a napkin and he apologised for only having a minute or two to talk to her because they were having a working dinner for planning etc. Five minutes after sitting back down at her table my sister was sent a bottle of champagne from Gary and needless to say she was very impressed.
theadmans Posted 22 August 2013 Posted 22 August 2013 Cracked me up after finding the jailbird in the family tree the expert said "yes the black sheep in the family are always interesting" and Gary piped up "Yes my brother is very interesting" !! Also the fact that the ancestor was called James Pratt and Gary commented "I've always knew we had some Pratts in the family". ....like to be a fly on the wall when Gary and Wayne next speak.
