Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 The probable order in terms of who everyone wants to avoid. Bayern Real Barca Chelsea Athletico Arsenal PSG Dortmund United Arsenal?
Jimothy Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 No chance. He's not even looking at him, purely accidental. He clearly slows right down then staggers his run in order to catch him. His going quite slowly and his stride is totally unnatural just before the impact. Like I said I'm not a fan of pulling apart these incidents because they're usually split second, but that's blatant.
AKCJ Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 I find it hard to believe you would speed up your run to run straight into someone accidentally. It doesnt look good He sped up the get the ball?? True it doesn't look, but when does a knee to the temple look good?
StanSP Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 That Lewa incident - it's quite clear he knows the player is there so to say he's not seen him or not aware of him is out the window. He's fallen right in front of him. But what I will say is that he's purposely gone to injure him, but perhaps not as dramatically as it turned out.
AKCJ Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Arsenal? *hangs himself* I've had a mare. No idea why i've included 9 sides lol
Donut Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 He sped up the get the ball?? True it doesn't look, but when does a knee to the temple look good? Hes definitely tried to do him. The ball is going out off the Zenit player, so its possession to Dortmund, and theyre easily through in the tie. Totally unnatural act from Lewandowski and i didnt think he was that kind of player to be honest.
Fox92 Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Lewandowski with a knee to a Zenit players head, not sure if it was intentional but Jesus he did a good job of it... "But Rugby players are real men, not footballers". That image sums up why I hate that comment, which I hear a lot. Horrid image, hope the lads alright.
One Legged Beaver Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 I've been saying all season I reckon it's Real's year and haven't really seen anything thus far to change my opinion. Dismantled every team with ease that they have faced so far. And if United play against any of the remaining teams like they did tonight they will get a pasting, big let off by horrific finishing from Olympiakos and the only chance of note they really created was Van Persie's second.
ScouseFox Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 i want real to win it and think they've got every chance. i wouldn't mind atletico winning it either but think they're more of an outsider, same as psg. just not barcelona basically.
Donut Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 "But Rugby players are real men, not footballers". That image sums up why I hate that comment, which I hear a lot. Horrid image, hope the lads alright. Or when people hold up rugby players as images of sportsmanship, integrity, respect towards each other and referees, when they just smash each other, stamp on each other and cheat behind the officials backs. It truly is ridiculous. A rugby referee made a comment to me once that footballers set a terrible example due to their on field behaviour and swearing. But i suppose just thumping each other instead doesnt matter.

Totally unnatural act from Lewandowski and i didnt think he was that kind of player to be honest. I don't believe for one second that he has. He'd be looking straight at him if that were the case, instead he's looking at where the ball is and is trying to keep it in play.

I remember a Tigers fan telling me about how Manu Tuilagi had apparently set a good example when he nearly killed Chris Ashton because he didn't moan to the ref. It's ridiculous.

Horrid image, hope the lads alright. ... what the **** has that got to do with anything? That common statement, which is pretty accurate in the grand scheme of things (see also American footballers, Ozzie rules footballers and rugby league players), doesn't imply that footballers can't get hefty injuries. It implies that you wouldn't get someone Drogba's size rolling around feigning injury in any of the above sports, which is commonplace in football. Something 90% of football fans accept happens and hate with a passion. Get that chip off your shoulder and grow up. PS: Manu Tuilagi would straight up gangster murder 99% of Premiership footballers. He's just stacked for it and trains for it, no need to get butthurt. Footballers train to keep the weight down (except Akinbeastmode.)
Dan Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 i was looking at it from an english team's perspective not gonna lie haha. united are the weakest atm true. chelsea are probably the next weakest team but nobody will want them under jose. bayern real barca psg atletico and dortmund. jeez. It's a very hard one to call. I think Chelsea are strong but they're a way behind the main three. I'd like to see one of the English sides draw PSG. Good test to see how good PSG actually are.
Fox92 Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 It's not a chip on my shoulder, just people telling it to me yesterday again. Just get bored of it.
Donut Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 It really annoys me too, the typical pro rugby arguments used against football are so easily refuted, i just get utterly tired of football this, football that, football the other.
Guest MattP Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Dortmund or Man U is the one you want, both shadows of the teams of last season. Chelsea would be fine usually but JM just seems to get so lucky in this competition and added to his defensive brilliance that's not a good combination to face. PSG and Atletico Madrid are both potential dark horse winners and you wouldn't want either. Barca, Bayern and Real goes without saying, all could finish the tie in half an hour.

Guest MattP Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Let's be fair to Finners here, it's as accurate as anything no matter how much football fans moan about it. Rugby players, cricketers, NFL players, Boxers, Jockeys - whatever sport really, it's the intention to try and show you aren't hurt and you can carry on. Football players actually roll around on the floor pretending to be hurt when they aren't, it has to be the only sport in the World that does it, it's pathetic and embarrassing. I pray for the day it stops.

I pray for the day it stops. I agree, but the argument from rugby fans is that footballers are wimps because they get hurt by minimal contact, whilst rugby players are real men because they can take lots of punishment. Footballers don't actually get injured by the slightest contact, they pretend to be to break up play, or get the opposing player in trouble. And genuinely injured footballers often try and carry on. It's pathetic and no other sport pretends to be injured but it is just a form of gamesmanship, and most sports have a form of that.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Atletico Madrid Barcelona Bayern Munich Borussia Dortmund Chelsea Manchester United Paris St-Germain Real Madrid Fvck me that's some draw Real Madrid or Barcelona or Bayern Munich are favourites but that's a bloody strong list apart from United
