AKCJ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Allardyce > Guardiola I can't help but think about Allardyce when he thought he'd won the tactical battle with Mourinho. "He can't take it cuz we've out tacticked him"
Jimothy Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I'd say it's more like 73% I was thinking more like 81.76%.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 In all seriousness, as much as I can see United getting absolutely pounded, and as much as the feral online community will be frothing at the omission of Kagawa, I think he's picked exactly the right side for today, given the huge injury list. Evra is not a great left back any more but when Buttner is the reserve you can see how important a player he is for them. Welbeck's inclusion is absolutely essential for stretching Bayern's defence and making them think twice about the high line they will inevitably play (probably regardless) plus in the long periods that Bayern have the ball his defensive discipline will be important. The only change I might have considered would have been having Carrick in at centre back and getting Fletcher in the midfield to fackin run abaat a bit.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Fellaini is pushing up quite high which is interesting tactically. Anyway back to the City game
NewburyFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 That high foot wasnt that high was it? The defender stooped, Welbeck's foot wasn't even chest height.
Jimothy Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 And there's the reason why Welbeck shouldn't go to Brazil ahead of Rodriguez.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Welbeck should have scored, the keeper just said thank you for the pass into my hands
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Welbeck pitiful To be fair to them on the whole though, so far not been too bad.
MC Prussian Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 And almost simultaneously, Atlético take the lead against Barcelona! 1-0 Diego GET IN!
Fox92 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Always loved Schweinsteiger. Said it before but he just makes the game look easy. Never gives the ball away.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Good performance and good result despite all the breeze of the internet experts.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Good performance and good result despite all the breeze of the internet experts. No way it'll be enough, but fair play to them for giving themselves a chance.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Could you imagine if Motes did completely outwit him tactically? Everybody would he completely amazed. It'll be interesting to see Rodgers in the CL though, knows his stuff. Hands up if you're completely amazed? This won't be a popular comment but as far as I am concerned that was an absolute masterclass from Moyes. His players are nowhere near the level of Bayern's at the moment (which is partly, maybe even largely his fault) but he got it tactically spot on given the circumstances. Perhaps that is Moyes though. Home game with a bunch of decent pros against top quality stars he's pretty routinely done the business in his time at Everton. Alternatively, you could argue that tonight proved that Moyes could operate at the very top level, but I don't think you'd find too many takers for that!
RowlattsFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Welbeck finishes brilliantly when disallowed but shocking effort when he had time. Pretty much sums him up, can be instinctive but give him time and he'll fluff his lines. Decent effort by United but performance been overrated slightly. Bayern were pretty poor on the night.

My op was littered with errors, I fell terrible.I wouldn't say it was a master class, they set up well but as RowlattsFox said Bayern were poor.

Darkon84 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Just won 75 quid on Man Utd and Barcelona to both draw. Lovely. Had the same bet, though only got £50 from £2.50 I'd even forgotten I'd put it on, so it was a lovely surprise when I checked my account
