Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Says it all in the title. We go away to a side with 1 point, only scoring 3 goals all season and just off the back of a 3 goal embarrassment by Doncaster. So what do we do? Play 5 along the back. The most negative and defensive minded tactic possible. Another new partnership along that backline too, how can our defence be settled when it's being choped and changed constantly with different partnerships and formations. Now I understand we can't win every game, but surely we can at least try and set up to win them? First half I cant think of a single shot on goal. We know Charlton don't have the best defence in the leauge and certainly not a quick one so why are we not getting at them with pace? Dropping an inform dyer & knockaert when they changed the game for us last weekend & both scored mid week once again proves to me just how clueless he is and how little he bothers looking into the opposition.
Stinkenzo Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 10 points from 5 games says different..... So 10 points from 5 games means he was tactically spot on with today's loss..
Danizen Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 I bet you've been itching to start this thread for four weeks Get to ****.
Fox in the North Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 So 10 points from 5 games means he was tactically spot on with today's loss.. No, but he had no effect on the sending off and 1 game doesn't make him clueless either.
Mark_w Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 So 10 points from 5 games means he was tactically spot on with today's loss.. 10 points from 5 games means that he isn't 'clueless'.
Charl91 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 10 points from 5 games says different..... We haven't exactly been playing amazingly in those games though. While good results are obviously good, you have to look at how well you actually play in those games to get a good indication of how the team will fare for the entire season. I think we'd be lucky to scrape into the top 6. Results wise, we've had a good start. Performance wise, far from convincing, other then in small spells.
peterborofox Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 I support and like NP but although points does say otherwise the performances with 352 haven't been great. Played 433 at Derby and it worked well and was disappointed we didn't do it again. Either way ref wouldn't have let us win that game.
Finnaldo Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 So 10 points from 5 games means he was tactically spot on with today's loss..No but it would imply that since he's only lost 1 in five with three wins that he's not 'clueless'.Some people on here need to take hormonal pills, they're embarrassing themselves really.
Filberts Treat Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Step down off the soap box son and stop craving attention
Guest ttfn Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Clearly calling him clueless is ridiculous, but the first part of the post was spot on. Doncaster ripped them apart last week. Charlton must have been low on confidence. In the 135 minutes between Knockaert and Dyer coming on against Birmingham and today, we'd scored 8 times. So why not use them from the start? I don't like 3-5-2 anyway, but in our case it is utter madness. Pearson seems to be reluctant to use Knockaert in the 3 and as a result it excludes our 2 most likely creators from the team.
Tielemans63 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Poor result? Yes. Does that make Pearson clueless? No.
5waller5 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 We should have won today and we could have done if we'd have approached the game more positively. He's not "clueless" he's just too bloody defensive!!
Simmo86 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 So 10 points from 5 games means he was tactically spot on with today's loss.. 10 points from 5 games shows he gets it right more than wrong! Thus making this thread stupid!

Whether we play well ot not especially in this league. People were giving Nige grief for playing well and losing this time last year. Poor bloke can't win!
MooseBreath Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Some criticism of Pearson is perfectly justified. We've been absolutely appalling everytime we've played this pathetic 8-0-2 formation, everyone knows it, and yet Pearson sticks with it. It really beggars belief and why he keeps playing it is to me a total mystery. I said during out capitulation last season that I thought Pearson had lost the plot in terms of formation. Nothing that has happened this season has convinced me otherwise.

Poor bloke can't win! This. I've only just signed up and I'm already fed up of all the negative nancies here.
