ACF Posted 5 September 2013 Posted 5 September 2013 that King Power no longer stock Leicester merchandise! (Source: My dad) Thais Out.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Assessing it properly it's probably just because Leicester City stuff isn't profitable. We're unloved!
Deucalion Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Mandaric was one hell of a salesmen. Turns out we were not on the brink of the Premier League, we wouldn't get 32000 crowds if doing well, and no-one passing through Bangkok airport wants to buy our kit!
Jace Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Thats strange I'm no expect in marketing but I was predicting the Filbert Fox masks to be a duty free best seller? Maybe they ran out of stock?

Fox92 Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 I wouldn't be suprised... Elephants outside the ground, stadium name change, King Power around the ground instead of pictures of our club legends, King Power represented on our shirt. And people think it's only Cardiff (you may laugh, but a kit change could happen here if I'm honest). I do think it will slowly happen to us. All the owners are doing really, is using Leicester City Football Club to enhance King Power in Europe. And let's face it, if they end up getting their King Power empire into Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham airports, then I'm sure they will be well pleased. (I'm not doubting they don't support/want the best for the football club.).
cecchini Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 I was in the King Power shop at Bangkok airport a couple of years ago. They had a big TV playing LCFC highlights and a whole section of LCFC apparel. I brought a lump to my throat. However even then it was only me buying!
AyewJoking Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 so you were in the land of ladyboys buying a lump in the throat?
Zingari Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 I've just looked on the forum Member Map and it seems Thailand is about the only place we don't have support.
Callabinho Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 We can thank Man United and Chelsea for that.
Guest MattP Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Anyone who seriously thought or thinks we could be huge in Thailand is an idiot. It would be like trying to make the Pattaya Polo Team huge here by dumping a few pieces if tacky merchandise in Heathrow. It's hard to see who did these up good and proper more, Mandaric or Sven.
Mike Oxlong Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Yeah, but who thought Alphaville would be Big in Japan?

5waller5 Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 It's simple .... be in the premier and we'll stand a chance of being a global brand. The Thais know that. That's why they'll do everything they can to get there.
sphericalfox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 I've just looked on the forum Member Map and it seems Thailand is about the only place we don't have support. I get a number of Thai's or certainly someone in Thailand reading my bobbins blog, so someone over there is paying us some attention. It's a shame they aren't going to the airport daily buying tat from their shop. There'll be no real attention from Thailand until we become a mainstay in the Prem, and even then we have much bigger competition in the top 4.

I've known quite a few people who are Leicester supporters move out to Thailand ( opened bars and stuff) so I'm pretty sure there must be a good few over there. Whether there is any actual Thai support or not I don't know , but I doubt if its many
