I am Rod Hull Posted 24 September 2013 Share Posted 24 September 2013 No it's not. Fook priorities. It's about beating our rivals in the cup and looking forward to Spurs away. Or it should be. Like it or not this is the modern game. Getting into the Prem is the main aim followed by staying up in the first season and then building on that and possibly winning a cup. Kitchandro Posted 24 September 2013 Share Posted 24 September 2013 I'm sure we all would. But what's the point in our other players if we're not going to use them? We have to plan our way through the fixtures. We also don't have the biggest squad so rotation matters. People like Was, GTF and Hammond were always going to need game time tonight. I accept that. But Pearson has to be prepared for a backlash if we play terribly. You can't just say 'it's the reserves - give them a break'. That is not an excuse. Giving players game time is one thing, but winning the match should still be important. The fact of the matter is we played very poorly in the first half, and the fans will be justifiably upset. Because it's a competitive game, and they have a right to expect a certain level of performance. If Pearson plays a weaker side, that's his decision, and he has to deal with the consequences. Fortunately for him we're winning now It's not about trying its about using the lowest priority competitive game to give fringe players a chance to se what they can do So when will the cup be a priority? Fortunately for him we're winning now So when will the cup be a priority? Absolutely, weak team or not they're accountable for their performance (in admittedly difficult circumstances). Fingers crossed we gold on now because then both goals have been accomplished!
biggs Posted 24 September 2013 Share Posted 24 September 2013 The first half was ridiculous with a mess of a lineup. Plenty of reason to speak one's mind on wanting a win or not.
