I think he can still do a job for us? He does well on loan so maybe the fact when he comes back he is effectively on a 6 month contract might help motivate him for us. If he goes in January fair play and I hope he does well.

But GTF holds the ball up so well and is the perfect player to bring on for 20/30 minutes. His experience to hold up the ball at Watford was excellent, he made Dyer's goal and created two good chances for King... I think he offers more than Waghorn, even if it is just for half an hour at the back end of a game.

If prefer he came back. People think we need to buy a striker in jan but with some consistent first team exposure he is capable at this level seein how he hasn't had much of a look in recently he would be almost like a new signing.

How many people will shoot me down if I said he's better than Vardy?

Based on this seasons form - a lot!

I doubt he's entirely happy here considering we've signed 2/3 other strikers relatively recently while he's been here and they've gone straight in ahead of him (Wood, Vardy, GTF).

Probably better for all parties that he leaves - not getting game time here and could get a decent fee for him.

I don't understand this one at all, Pearson loaned him in then loaned him at Hull so obviously seen his potential. But now he doesn't like him. Something must of gone on

Nugent, Vardy and Wood are all better then him that's what went wrong.

Could get a decent fee for him now we would of struggled to get 500K for him before but now we could probably get 750K. :fc:

Doubt we'll get much especially with him being out of contract in the summer, £500k max!

Why must something always have gone off? Just because you like a certain player doesn't mean you will like them for ever. Players change/Don't fit in to certain styles!

I'd snap there hand off if they offered 500K.

Waghorn can take set-pieces well and on form can look threatening (around November/ December last season).

But if Pearson feels we've got better options now then it's best to let him play regularly elsewhere.

Good luck to him if he goes! hoping we get a decent fee for him though.

Hope he stays. Look how impotent we looked on Saturday without Wood and Vardy on Saturday. We could still be playing now and we wouldn't have scored. He's miles better than Schlupp up front and could well be a player we need come after Christmas. He's a decent striker and is certainly at his best when in a rich vein of form/playing well. He's got his match fitness back now and looks sharp when I've seen him. A very important player to keep IMO.

Well at the time we loaned him we only had Howard and Fryatt, so was bound to look good! Now we have Wood, Nugent and Vardy who are better players. Hull also had no strikers at the time, thus why Nige signed him there.

Decent at this level, nothing more, needs gametime to stay sharp so better elsewhere.

Got to take into account FFP, if we can get any sort of fee of 500k+ then he's got to go for me. He won't be on the smallest wage ever, bearing in mind that he came in when we spending silly money.

Perhaps he's regressed as a player since 09/10 (it was four years ago) and Pearson now feels it's time to move him on? Or maybe he was never really that good in the first instance and was in a purple patch for a few months during that season?

There are plenty of logical solutions that aren't the mysterious, sensational story you're alluding to.
