cityfanlee23 Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Will Hughes is ****ing average hence why he's still at Derby. A team would have splashed big cash for him in the summer if they were convinced. Ravel Morrison, he is top drawer, underrated because of his previous lifestyle choices and left Man United. Ravel will be everything people are saying about Will Hughes. Agree with Ravel, He's seriously quality, you see his goal in training??
cc_star Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 No We often underrate them, being extra critical & overrate other team's players because we don't see them week in & week out & have a grass is greener mentality as is probably human nature
fleckneymike Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 I think all fans overrate some of their own players. Times that by ten when they have been away from the side for a while. You couldn't find a single City fan who didn't rate Hobbs when he was here, now he's at Forest we all don't think he is that good. Hellooooo. I didn't 'rate' Hobbs.
cjslcfc Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Rubbish. Will Hughes is comfortably the most overrated player in English football atm. He has been terrible every time I've seen him play against us, lightweight, poor decision making and poor defensively. He's just hyped up because his touch is unreal and he has exceptional balance. F all else. To be fair, I know it's the only time we see him play fully but to base how good he is on that is a bit false. Personally, linking him with Barca etc... is completely overhyping him but if he bulks up a bit he has all the qualities to be a good premiership midfielder. The prices Derby have quoted for him are absolutely ludicrous and come with this day and age of overpriced English talent! He's not a player we'd need though so that's saying something. I'd certainly not swap him for Moore or anyone like that. And this comes from someone who played regularly with him a couple of years ago. If he improves as he is currently doing he does have the potential to go a long way in football, though. In terms of our players it's a strange one. We both underrate and overrate our players depending on how we are feeling. Since we see them week in week out we are both their biggest critics, because we see their flaws all the time, and their biggest fans, because we see what they can do regularly. It's a really strange situation to be honest!
Dan Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 I'm with Ginger on Ravel. He'll be quality if he gets his head down.
steveherbe Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Hellooooo. I didn't 'rate' Hobbs. Then you dont know as much about football as you think you do. Quality centre back.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 It could be that Kasper has been overrated, as he seems pretty average this season.
foxfanazer Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 It could be that Kasper has been overrated, as he seems pretty average this season.Capable of the sublime and the ridiculous. Some of his saves are truely world class. Needs to cut out the silly mistakes. Still wouldn't swap him for any keeper in this league
Corky Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 95% of the time Kasper is fine, needs to stop being erratic. They seem like concentration rather than technical errors.
bovril Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 I like Lloyd but the amount of times I've read on here "if he had a decent touch / could cross or shoot he'd be playing for Barca" ... well if I was a multi-millionaire shagging Scarlett Johansson then I'd be a multi-millionaire shagging Scarlett Johansson. But I'm not, believe it or not.
Bayfox Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Liam moore as an example, fans on here putting £10m on his head is laughable, He's good, but at this level, he has potential to be a good premiership player, but fans think he could slot into united now.... Maybe in a few years he would be a regular, but not yet. I think I have been one to overrate drinkwater but glad to see him proving me somewhat right. still need to improve to the standards I have talked him up too you have watched utd recently yes? Moore or the current rio??? As for hughes. I'm told he isn't even the best prospect derby have. By someone who watches derbys kids every week as his lad is on the books.

He may watch derbys kids, but hughes in the first team, heard good things about bennett As far as the rio/moore question, I'll let you have that one
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 A thread almost entirely dedicated to a derby player, well done lads
Bayfox Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Mason bennett? He may watch derbys kids, but hughes in the first team, heard good things about bennett As far as the rio/moore question, I'll let you have that one got it in one. Reckons he's better than will.
Dan Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Layton Nduwku, step up and blow all these Derby twats out the water, much love, all of Leicester.
hackneyfox Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Kasper, Morgan, Dyer & Nugent A few on here think they could be the spine of our team should we get promoted. Should we get promoted I'm hoping for a brand new squad, yes it mat take time to gell but any team with those 4 in it will get destroyed in the Premier.
Nick Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Yeah, tough call to be honest. I think we would have more of a chance with what we have than doing a Palace and buying 14+ new squad members in the summer. We have had a squad of mercenaries with no club allegiance before......
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Don't estimate the Prem hackney, it ain't all that. Some pretty average squads up there now, of course we'd get battered by the top sides but as the Fulham game showed the bottom eight or so are nothing special. 4\5 quality additions and I think we would be ok. Even Palace are still in touch and their squad its woeful. Hull aren't much better and they have a real chance of surviving.
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I want more top 10 finishes Matt. You'll need a bit of patience, a bit of luck, a settled spine of a team and some high quality signings then.
Kitchandro Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I want more top 10 finishes Matt. Well expecting them straight away is extremely naïve. When we go up I'll be happy to stay up for a couple of seasons.
Dan Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I want more top 10 finishes Matt. So do I. But do you really expect us to go up and finish in the top half? I'd take 17th in a first year up. From then on I'd be hoping for your 8th/9th type of finish and eventually getting into Europe. Far easier said than done, but the thought of going to Norwich away and being happy to play for a point doesn't sit right with me.
