If Leicester City genuinely do support safe standing, I'd like to see them come out in support of it, rather than wait for others.

I think I've mentioned this before, Susan said the club will not be making any kind of statement over their stance until the authorities give it their backing.

Brilliant. Thank you.

This new guy from Villa - is he taking over someone else or is it a new role made for him/someone?

Not entirely sure, but I would guess he's taken over from somebody else.

I find that a little odd. I mean fair play that they do actually back it - but if they back it, why not be vocal? We wouldn't be the first club and we certainly wouldn't be the last.

On what grounds do they back it? If you know.

I don't the minute they say they back it everyone could stand up.

Security nightmare also clubs are not supposed to encourage it.

Ask Susan what she thinks to the idea of swapping The Kop & The Family Stand around?

I do hope your joking.

This is sad to read.

If they actually believe it in get the ball rolling, if no one ever gave an opinion that contradicted what some authority thought society would never move on from anything.

I'm not sure that'd happen.

I'm sure if someone makes a claim that sitting at the football is racist then we'll have the whole country on their feet again.

The key word was COULD.

That's a brilliant idea.

"Sit down if you hate non whites" then follow it up with outrageous accusations of racism towards stewards who ask you to sit down.

They'd have to run a mile.

Online needs sorting - I was trying to buy a membership and it kept erroring out. Which leads me to my next question - what are the upcoming membership changes?

As always, any topics you want bringing up, please let me know either on here or use the FCC area specific email addresses (below).

It's the final one of the year, and as far as I know it's also the final one before the membership changes. Susan Whelan will be there too.

Ask why the club promote ageism! As a middle aged bloke I have to pay £27 for a game where as an under 18/22 on one side of me and an oap on the other side pay a lot less! We all take up the same amount of space so why the difference?

Also make the foxes eye and badge video played before games available to the public please or even just a picture

Also who's idea was it to allow sth and members to get 6 tickets for man city meaning loads of occasional fans miss out to some people who never go to the KP?

Are you gonna moan to Arriva that they give bus passes out to the elderly too?

Chloe- although the issue for now has been sorted with Man City L block's lack of being relocated was a farce. I took the matter up with Jim who explained there's simply too many in L to directly transfer them across to K as K has its own STH's. Fair enough. HOWEVER, and some may not have seen this, 3 days into the STH sales for the cup game it was said on the website that certain seats in different areas of the ground were actually put by for this reason. Again on speaking with Jim a few times no other seats were actually offered me. I ideally wanted to be at the back of K whereas I'm currently at the front. I'm not bothered now ill be standing anyway, but they need next time- whether its the semi final or the next time a big away allocation is given, to have a separate couple of days selling period at the start of the sales for fans in L and the other block to have first dibs on being relocated.

It also didn't help that the Man City tickets were on sale for STHs online late sunday night, .12 hours before they officially went on sale. It's farcical. It also applies to other games such as QPR where fans can bypass the priority scheduling just by booking online. Its stupid and something should be done about it!

I think that was actually brought up in the sub committee meeting Stu regarding a relocation sales only day.

I'd like to know why DMU students can get tickets for cheaper than anyone else in the ground. I'm not against encouraging students to go to Leicester games, but it's ridiculously unfair on fans who've been going for years - and it's a bit of an insult to Leicester fan students at Uni in another city who not only have to pay more to get there, but don't get any pricing priority over locals who may not even be Leicester fans? All a bit bizarre to me.

I'm all for cheaper tickets and want to see them in general - but our crowds get worse every year and if you look at our last 6 seasons (including this one), we've finished higher than the previous season in all but one of them. Does that not speak volumes that the pricing is a bit off?

I'll field this one - short answer is because they want more people through the gates. If we regularly sold out and they still offered them then I would agree it was unfair, but we don't, so it isn't. It's just a way of trying to get people in who wouldn't normally be there and who might possibly come back, to plug the swathes of empty seats we get at every home game. It's not a big deal and there is no 'us and them' mentality behind it such as the one you imply here.

I promise the Club aren't doing it to persecute you, me and all the other Leicester fans. We aren't the only Club who do it - I used to regularly go and watch Man City while I was at uni there - fiver for the cups, tenner for the league and even a CL match for 15. Nowadays the scheme has been discontinued because they sell out more often.

EDIT: Worth adding that when I went to games via this method, the view from my seat and the atmosphere in my section were both diabolical.

My love for the Club is such that I am happy to pay £22 to watch them play from a seat of my choosing with my fellow fans, and don't consider it an unfair price. If you want to pay £5 to stop it from being oh so unfair, go and wrangle one of those DMU tickets, I bet its not hard, and sit with a load of Chinese exchange students in the West Stand.

Please find out how many half season tickets have been sold. Could do with a laugh.

lol

I'd be interested to know if the club intend to get involved with any deals that other clubs are making among themselves regarding cheap away tickets? E.g. Some teams in the Prem, Norwich and Swansea are an example have agreed to charge away fans for both games just £20 for a certain amount of seasons. Is this something we might get involved with in the championship or even if we went up?

I can probably answer this one for you now. The club ideally do not want the N block thing to continue, they've had lots of problems with it including having to relocate families because of bad language/behaviour. They don't want that behaviour to be associated with the family stand.

Please don't turn this thread into another N block debate btw, we've got one of those already. Just passing on what I was told in the last sub-committee meeting.

Maybe you could tell them to make the West Stand the family stand instead then. It's out of the way and it's usually more empty than the others.

This has nothing to do with swapping the family stand with the Kop before I get any sarcastic comments ;)

Seriously though, it's definitely worth suggesting. It would suit everyone.

The online/phone ticket system needs sorting. Trying to buy man city tickets was an absolute farce. Just like every other slightly interesting game. Turns into a free for all where the website crashes and the phone system won't even let you sit in a queue. It just says try again later (at a exploitative cost). It's pathetic

I'll second this. I don't usually have problems with it but it's shocking when it's a big game.

I don't think it's right that I had a window of about 5 minutes to get my tickets for Man City, and I was one of the luckier ones.

One suggestion - when a match goes on general sale, why not make it possible for people to get it online from midnight instead of 9am? I start work at 9am, as do a lot of people. By 5pm it was sold out. I was only let through on the phones right at the end of my lunch hour, that's the only reason I got one.

Oh and season ticket holders should never get as many as 6 tickets for such a big match again. 1 or 2 each is fair enough.

As always, I think they should come out in support of safe standing, reduce ticket prices, get rid of platinum fixtures (has this been raised yet?) yadda yadda yadda, but I'm not holding my breath....

I think I've mentioned this before, Susan said the club will not be making any kind of statement over their stance until the authorities give it their backing.

Have you asked them why they feel that way?

Though just because you are happy with it doesn't mean everyone else should be and that it isn't right to bring it up.

If it was about getting more people through the gates their would be a complete revaluation of the whole pricing struture considering we are second, playing good football and still have 10,000 spare seats most weeks. What will our attendance be on Saturday? 22,000? If it was about about getting people in it would be a tenner to everyone on the day who walks up but they don't do that as it would be completely unfair for season ticket holders, as it currently is to them compared to DMU students.

These £5 DMU tickets are in the West Stand corner, that means some City fans for the Forest game where the JTT tickets are (which sold out very early) instead of paying their usual £20-25 had to shell out a tenner more so a few students can get cheap seats, that isn't right however you put it and it something that has to be addressed.

If the club want to bring in Japanese students get Yuke Abe or similar back, don't piss off your loyal supporters by giving them cheaper tickets than pensioners who are probably even more skint that have been coming to watch this club play football the whole of their life.

The high volume level of the pre match music discourages fans from building pre match atmosphere. Turn it down by about 30% and pre match atmos building will improve by a directly related percentage (source: my little book of common sense)

See what you're saying there so fair enough.

Fair enough. There's still the matter of tickets going on sake online 12 hours earlier than the official time which again no diubt affected me being relocated to where I wanted.

Are the club actually aware of the above online ticket matter for man city or even for any other game (such as qpr) or do they just choose to ignore it?

It's not just the issue of not being sat where I wanted- its the fact we had to battle through on the telephone lines at considerable expens. We had genuine reasons to ring up at 9am that Monday but I'd guess 80% of the others in the phone queue were just the usual STH wanting to get their seats asap despite them being reserved til 18th.

I think I've mentioned this before, Susan said the club will not be making any kind of statement over their stance until the authorities give it their backing.

Did they give a reason why? Seems a fairly stupid thing to do but I know other clubs are taking a similar stance.

There are other clubs who are the opposite - Cardiff are basically promoting standing at one end (with apparent backing from their local council) so I can't imagine it's anything to do with a fear that signalling your support would trigger an investigation into standing at the KP?

It all just smacks of apathy from the Club to be honest and that is sad and ultimately negligent because it is having an impact on people's safety and enjoyment of football matches.

I'm hardly happy with it - I just don't think it's a big deal at all. Who cares about a few DMU students coming to games? Same applies to you, if you want to pay £5, get a DMU ticket, go and sit with them and watch nobody care.

The Forest example - good god, do you honestly think it was engineered so a few students could get cheap seats as a direct consequence of fans paying more?

Its the way it is framed - seems if the Club is not waiting on you hand and foot then they are 'pissing off your loyal supporters', or 'insulting', 'bizarre' etc. Does the fact that maybe because we are loyal supporters, getting in for the cheapest possible price just isn't that important come into it at all?
