jonthefox Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Another one gone. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wigan-sack-manager-owen-coyle-2874263
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 this is getting ridiculous. 16 games in charge.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Bloody stupid appointment in the first place that. Coyle is shit
Donut Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 That seems extremely harsh trying to combine the Europa League and Championship with a small-ish squad, playing catchup games on a sunday and theyre not a million miles away from the playoff spots. Birmingham did something similar with a slow start in the championship under Hughton, with Europa League commitments out of the way they had an excellent run of form into the playoffs and i could have seen Wigan doing the same. Bad decision to sack Coyle IMO
ousefox Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Shit manager. Terrible appointment in the first place. They might be a worry now if they get someone half decent.
Corky Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Scored one goal away since the first game of the season. Two defeats in a row at home, battered by Derby. Yes they have the Europa League to deal with but that squad should be far higher than 14th in December. No doubt he'll get another decent job.

Sacked twice in 14 months by teams newly relegated with squads that should have been doing a lot better. What's the chances he takes over another relegated team next season?
Happy Fox Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 How he got the job in the first place was quite bemusing wouldn't be surprised if they try and poach Steve McClaren from the sheepshaggers
Harry - LCFC Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Wigan thinking they're a big club and that
johnny the fox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 sack early, sack often, whelan is becoming a sacking fool. they were spoilt by having martinez.
Mack Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 You could see they were underachieving when we played them. With the squad they have they should be right up there challenging. I only hope they employ someone as equally inept as Coyle to ensure they don't bother us this season.
Fox92 Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Did a good job at Burnley, but don't think he's that much of a good manager. They do play in Europe but they should be higher than 14th, I mean, Birmingham also managed to challenge the play offs when they were in Europe as well.
Jimothy Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 According to The Guardian rumour mill, Warnock has been pimping himself out for jobs on Talk Sport this morning and is favourite for the Wigan job. Stuart Pearce apparently being lined up for Wednesday.
svensson Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 What a cvnt Coyle is, he still wears the full kit on the touchline, socks pulled up as if he still thinks he can do a job. Get a suit you chimp!
Leicesterpool Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 I actually thought Coyle would have at least be given a couple seasons at Wigan, but no he's gone! Won't be suprised if they try and get Darren Ferguson, but they may fancy Old Olly.
Super_horns Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Paul Jewell to make a return? Am surprised Coyle has gone so quickly - falling out with players/chairman?
martyn Posted 6 December 2013 Posted 6 December 2013 Looks like they'll get Rosler. Of course he has no experience at this level but would be a very good appointment imo,
