foxfanazer Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The negative reaction on here after a loss seems far stronger than the positive reaction after a win. Are you more happy when we win or more unhappy when we lose? Which feeling is.stronger? If that makes sense Last weeks quality players become crap players this week. Pearson goes from hero to villain in the space of two games. What I'm getting at is, can there be no middle ground? Can people accept that we are very good championship side but not to the point where we won't lose any games. We will have blips just like any other team will/has had. We would've been delighted with this position before the season started so why can't we be happy now? We seem to be a victim of our own success in a way. Ok it isn't success because we haven't actually won anything yet but we have been impressive so far this season and I believe we are more than capable of promotion this season.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 More unhappy when we lose. Being up at the top I consider a win to be a standard result so I don't attach much importance to it as it's to be expected to an extent.
StanSP Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 More happy when we win (cue the labels of being a 'happy-clapper'). I just love when my team wins and that's all there is to it. I just don't like to over-react or take things to the next level when we lose. I realise we can't win every single game (no team has ever done that so why would fans expect Leicester to do so??). I like to be constructively critical when we lose but when we win, I like to pick up on the positives and don't really focus on the negatives. Not to say I ignore them completely, but there's no need to. Just enjoy the 3 points and hopefully the good performance that came with it and then look towards the next game.
jmono84 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 We've hardly been convincing and I do try and be positive, today tho knocked the wind out of my sails big time tho Think NP may need to make invest in some quality additions come Jan but can we even make signings?? Nope, think positive mono, think positive We'll be fine
AndWhat? Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I only properly started going home and away in the 2004-2005 season, so winning is still a novelty to me no matter how good we are doing this season. The happiness of winning for me out weighs the sadness of losing by a long way. No matter if we are top of the league I am still looking at how many points 7th has. I don't think I will ever think a win to be standard no matter where we are in any league! I think a lot of people still think we are a top tier team, which we haven't been for 10 years!

There's nobody any more disappointed than me when we lose but I prefer to discuss how we can improve rather than write us off as shit. It's a really tough league and we have no god given right to turn up and expect to be given 3 points

It's a really tough league and we have no god given right to turn up and expect to be given 3 points Exactly. We're a team in the Championship, not consistently in the Champions League. Some people underestimate this league and as you say, those people think we'll just walkover sides and come away with 3 points all the time. Craziest thing being that someone said if we can't beat Sheff Weds, we won't be able to beat QPR or Burnley .
MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It's not the fact that we're losing, it's the way by which we're losing that usually prompts me to go more into detail, analyzing the mistakes that have been made in a defeat. Maybe a few unbeaten games make it appear as if the team's finally hit form - losing two games in a row by contrast, is quite the downer - especially when we all know all too well how last season panned out between December and February.

Spiritwalker Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The feeling of depression after defeat is always stronger and lasts longer than the euphoria of victory. This all down to the chemicals in the brain. So there is a biological and probably an evolutional reason for these reactions. Then again maybe we're just fickle moaning fokers.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I feel for those fans if we do actually manage to get to the Prem and get battered most weeks No mate. Don't forget, many posted a couple of games ago to say that the Premiership is nowt special and that we'd be fine with a couple or three signings. Complete balls of course. Whoops, sorry... positive positive

Probably the post best i'v ever seen. All supporters of all teams are the same though. It wasn't so long ago that the Arsenal fans wanted Wenger out, now look at them. Manchester United fans's are calling for Moye's head already, Chelsea fans are slating their defence because they can't stop conceding goals. Every team have their problems and bad results. If we don't want the "low's" at all then we should either stop watching football or support Bayern Munich!!haha
Corky Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Happier when we win. The whole point of supporting is to enjoy winning and have memorable moments, we're going to lose games, possibly as many as we win so I like to savour a victory.

I think that's the whole point, last season was great in parts, hung around the top two, and then bottled it, and couldn't buy a win for long periods.Hopes have again been raised by another strong start to put us up top, the minute we get there, we put in two of the most appalling team performances, so to many including myself, I wonder about the mental strength of all concern in the team. And in reply to those having cheap digs at people that moan after a defeat, I can take being beat by a better team, but I will moan like **** when they play as shit as they have over the last two games. I went to Sheffield and was disappointed to pay my money and my team not turn up, and feel for those that travelled today, and again they didn't show up. People haven't been hiding anywhere, just praise when praise is deserved and criticism when it's warranted, nothing complicated.
foxfanazer Posted 8 December 2013 Author Posted 8 December 2013 We have this thread every time we lose!first time I've done it though
sylofox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Today is not so bad. over reaction midweek I don't do. But our record away to bottom 3 side is poor we should have picked up something. Yes donny was a freak goal but charlton and wednesday no excuse. Still upbeat but in true city fashion if we do this we are going to make it look hard. CTID
Ash79 Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Savour the wins and try and learn from your losses this mantra should see us right...
ozleicester Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 IMO, this is a discussion forum, Its pretty hard to offer alternative opinions on the side if we are wining, and therefore, i tend to come on, say well done and move along, When we lose and i think i can see areas that could be improved or changed then i will ask questions. eg the tactical decision to not play Knocky for as long as possible. The man is a huge part of our scoring abilities "resting" him is (again IMO) foolish and damages our results. There is no point in me commenting about the negatives when we are winning, as the response will just be... "we're winning", "trust in Nige" etc.

There is a common sense middle ground but unfortunately, precious few of us that occupy it.
Crinklyfox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Positivity is good, the second half yesterday proved that with more positive intent we can get results. Knocky coming on and putting in a shift really worked for me and raised the spirits of our fans at the match. However the gent next to me put his head in his hands so many times in the first half and I had every sympathy. We didn't look like a team at the top of the league, the desire wasn't there, the organisation wasn't there (holes at the back, ineffective midfield, even Nugent having to drop back to cover) and too many players looked either out of place or out of form. So it's hard to be positive based on yesterday's performance but if NP can sort it out then we can still challenge this season.
