A minutes applause for the owners against reading in the Twelfth minute

Surely that should be a one way street. It should be them trying to appease us rather than the other way round?

I don't think it's as simple as that. A football club is a living thing and there are a lot of things that enable it to be stable. Just look at the relationship between Cardiff's fans and their owners. Bottom line is that it is a business and although it's good for them to be working for us it isn't a priority.

I just feel that small gestures like this don't do any harm. They've done something to help the club and whether or not it's for the fans (it's not) we can still be appreciative. If you think long term then it's just another little reason for the owners to maybe form some sort of emotional attachment to the club.

Where were all the negative whiny people who said it was a bad idea?

At home on FoxesTalk?

What a surprise.

:xmaslaugh:

I clapped throughout..as did most I'd suspect..

True and if anyone takes a minute to look through your past posts they'll see that you're definitely one of them.

Your welcome to it and you should have a long had think about why, still your happy, the owners are happy, maybe some are reaching the end of the road with the modern game and it's cheap facade

This type of hypocrisy could only ever be seen on FoxesTalk.

Have the owners done anything wrong? They've been nothing but superb since they arrived. A clap wouldn't hurt would it? Jesus wept.

I clapped, seemed like most did, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with this. Regardless of anything else, I don't think anyone isn't grateful that they have officially cleared the debts, it is typical to say thanks after someone does something nice. Would be nice to get a chant going or a banner to just show our appreciation on a more regular basis, in light of what is going on at other clubs they have barely put a foot wrong in my opinion.

I thought people were clapping because the lights had come on :xmaslaugh:

I'm sorry, but chants and banners just because they're not mad enough to try and change our name or kit colour, or sack a manager doing a half decent job? As I say, if we directed that creativity and appreciation towards the players on the pitch and songs in support of the team we'd perhaps get ourselves out of the current atmosphere rut we find ourselves in at present.

I must say our block was the best for it, Everyone in our whole block stood and started clapping and it was only at that moment I noticed it was for the twelfth minute.

Yeah I think it was probably more to do with the £100m though

Because having one more chant is going to make the atmosphere worse? :dunno:

How is that hypocritical?

But for the record the reason I didn't applaud is quite simple. I think it's ridiculous that any owner is allowed to add to a club's debt in the way ours did, they effectively put our football club in a position where our survival was completely dependent on them. Am I glad that they've paid off that debt, the vast majority of which they're responsible for? Yes. Do I think they deserve a round of applause for rectifying the situation and so far not trying to change our name or kit colour? No.

I consider not adding millions of pounds worth of debt that the club can't ever afford to pay off on its own and not doing what the likes of Tan & Allam are doing to be the bare minimum any football club owner should be doing. So no, I don't think it deserves a round of applause, or a banner, or a chant.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful but we should have never been in that position in the first place.

Stringer said they have a live picture stream and a RL stream to go with it. It was clearly heard on the radio so they would have got the jist.

So you'd rather we had owners who invest no money at all in the club?

The last person I did a minutes applause for wasn't at the stadium either, what's your point?

Er.... That the owners weren't there?!

They don't have to be there for it to be relayed to them. I hope they saw our appreciation.
