ktfox59 Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Am sure that his decision to take the Millwall managerial post on, was made all the sweeter and easier for him bearing in mind his woeful record against us since his departure from the KP, and he wont be seeing us for a good while longer...hopefully!
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Millwall is a Holloway type club if you ask me. A relatively nothing small mans syndrome club
foxfanazer Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Started the season as a Premier League manager and by January he's the new Millwall boss
ollielcfc Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Hollowhead back where he belongs. Gone there to be the 'hero' figure that he craves, shame they'll finish bottom.
Mack Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 We've already had 6 points off of them so it is of no interest to me. They are in such a state I'd doubt he'll keep them up, much as he couldn't sort out the mess he inherited with us.
iamafox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Don't see why Ollie would accept such an unattractable vacancy at a club with vile supporters. Surely he could have waited longer for a better job.
Fox92 Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Hollowhead back where he belongs. Gone there to be the 'hero' figure that he craves, shame they'll finish bottom. Well he's achieved well at Blackpool and delivered the job just at Palace. Might do decent at Millwall, will probably keep them up.
ollielcfc Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Well he's achieved well at Blackpool and delivered the job just at Palace. Might do decent at Millwall, will probably keep them up. I can't really see him having much of an impact there mate, think they're a lost cause.
Soar Fox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 I can't really see him having much of an impact there mate, think they're a lost cause. That's a bit over the top seen as they aren't even in the relegation places. A couple of loan signings and I'd expect Holloway to keep them up. Don't judge him by the job he did here 5 years ago. He's gone on to prove that he's a very competent manager at this level.

I'm just not sure, judged on what I've seen of Millwall, that he can have such a positive impact that he'll pick them up out of the dump they're in. Still, I could be wrong, only time will tell.
Leicesterpool Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Probably a good appointment for them and no doubt he'll keep them up unfortunately
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Don't see why Ollie would accept such an unattractable vacancy at a club with vile supporters. Surely he could have waited longer for a better job. Define unattractable.
AKCJ Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Define unattractable. Small club, cretinous fan base, no budget, relegation candidates...
foxfanazer Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Is unnattractable even a word? Surely it's unattractive?
Donut Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 No lose situation for Holloway. Keep them up he is a hero, if they go down, itll be because Lomas left them in a mess. Probably still down in the South East London area anyway, probably a good fit for them and him.
MC Prussian Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 It's the perfect match. And a genius idea for a dating website TV ad - "When Ollie met the 'Mill".
ktfox59 Posted 7 January 2014 Author Posted 7 January 2014 had to smile at millwall fans on SSN, celebrating ian holloways appointment as manager. may have been a freudian slip, but when he was telling the interviewer that ' holloway knows how to get teams out of this division ' I couldnt help a knowing chuckle. How true! Surely they arent seriously dreaming of premiership football any year soon.
Langston Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I didn't like them as it stood and I'll raise a glass when that spaniel takes them down.
Fox92 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Went on their forum and some of they don't seem that happy. To be fair, Holloway did a very good job at Blackpool who, nowadays, are at a similar stature to Millwall with the same limitations (not much budget). There's no reason why they can't compete for a play off place next season. Obviously took Palace up as well, although the Freedman really started it all. I wouldn't be suprised if he keeps them up this year.

The only reason he wound up taking Palace up was because the league was so woefully bad and nobody capitalised on the fact he was taking them backwards.
Exeter Fox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Holloway isn't half as bad as some people on here make him out to be.
Langston Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Holloway isn't half as bad as some people on here make him out to be. Yes he is.
