STUHILL Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 There is no doubt that if we play anywhere near as well as we did against Derby then we should be too much for Leeds to cope with. After their thrashing, I can see them trying to grind out a result against us, meaning closing down, men behind the ball and trying to frustrate us. It will be a good challenge for us and a total different game to Derby. An early goal would really open the game up for us but if Leeds succeed in frustrating us then it could become a tough old battle to get goals there. Either way, I would be very surprised if Leeds don't come out battling and try and stop us from playing rather than trying to out play us like Derby did. I predict another win but we could struggle. 1-0 Leicester.
rico Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Well, the last time we won six on the trot was back in the 1992/1993 season and the last time Leicester City won seven games in a row, which still is a club record, was in early 1993 - during the very same season: 28 February 1993 Birmingham City H 2–1 10,284 Walsh, Lowe 6 March 1993 Barnsley A 3–2 9,452 Coatsworth (2), Walsh 10 March 1993 Sunderland H 3–2 15,609 Walsh (2), Lowe 13 March 1993 Tranmere Rovers A 3–2 9,680 Walsh, Thompson, Lowe 20 March 1993 Grimsby Town H 3–0 15,930 Walsh, Oldfield, Groves (own goal) 23 March 1993 Cambridge United A 3–1 6,836 Joachim, Lowe (2) 27 March 1993 Charlton Athletic H 3–1 17,290 Joachim, Walsh (2) Source: wikipedia Love how prolific Walshy was in that run

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 January 2014 Author Posted 14 January 2014 Just need to combat the physicality that they are bound to employ in midfield. Can see a few hefty challenges going in early on
Leicesterpool Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 this what the Chelsea fans chant at Leeds
deanolegend1989 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Having looked at my team sheet, i might give it a little change GK: Kasper CB: Morgan CB: Moore CB: Wasilewski RWB: De Laet LWB: Dyer CM: Drinkwater CM: James AM: Nugent AT: Wood AT: Vardy Knocky had a great night on Friday but there's no where on this formation, where he would fit in. He's an attacking wide midfielder not a wing back! Are you actually broken? Do you watch Leicester play? Dyer at wing back & no Knockeart is just funny. You can say its your opinion but if I said Harry kane should of won the Ball'on dor rather than Ronaldo people would think the same as they do about your formation..Good stuff.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 To put this game into some perspective Leeds will be stung by their last result and they will want to bounce back especially at home against the league leaders. This has mega tough game written all over it. Very difficult to predict but probably 1-0 to either team
indierich06 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Just watched the highlights from the Leeds game again after watching the game on Sunday. Honest to God, if they defend like that then we should have no problems whatsoever. Absolutely comical stuff, seen better marking in the playground.
MGLCFC Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 A lot of ifs and buts - this is the Championship - Cardiff lost twice to Peterborough, we've already lost to Donny, Charlton and Sheff Weds. It is so unpredictable. Whilst on paper and current form, this would suggest a comfortable win, Leeds will be determined to make amends for some horror shows lately. They will have at least two players making home debuts and a set of supporters who will demand more. Make no mistake, this will be a tough challenge, one we can surmount if we approach it in the right manner. I'm sure NP will make sure the team don't get embroiled in a dirty, scrappy game, but as posters have said before, winning the midfield battle is key.

Honest to God, if they defend like that then we should have no problems whatsoever. Absolutely comical stuff, seen better marking in the playground. They won't be that bad again. Leeds haven't actually had a bad season. They have been a complete train wreck since Christmas but otherwise they're doing ok.

Haydos Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I'd take a point even though were hammered by Wednesday on saturday, they are still very strong at home. I know we won on saturday but I'd perhaps change the tactics a little, I notice Leeds struggle more against teams that play on the counter attack style. So team for me GK: Kasper CB: Morgan CB: Moore DM: Hammond RWB: De Laet LWB: Konchesky (If not fit then Schlupp) CM: Drinkwater CM: James AM: Nugent AT: Wood AT: Vardy BENCH: Logan, Wasileswki, Schlupp (Taylor-Fletcher), King, Dyer, Knockaert & Phillips. Deary me

Vacamion Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 this what the Chelsea fans chant at Leeds Oh great. Another "Sloop John B" - we really need another one of those. The wit approaches the levels of Oscar Wilde when they insert the words "Jimmy Saville". Performed by Chelsea fans, too. So much to admire.
davieG Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 If we're going 352 LPool at least make it fun. Kasper DeLaet Morgan Moore Mahrez James Drinky Dyer Knocky Nuge Vardy
Leicester_Numan Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 McDermott is taking Leeds back to basics, he reckons they've hit rock bottom and mentions the lack of fight against Sheffield. I was thinking maybe the Rochdale defeat had the same effect on them as Wycombe had on us, just knocked the stuffing out of them. We can expect a much improved performance from them but with little confidence or spirit, they could collapse if we score first.
Dan Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 They will set up to avoid losing. They played a 3-4-3 at Sheff Weds which completely backfired as they were taken apart by an average at best side. I guarantee they set up with a scruffy 4-4-2, maybe even 4-5-1, and just do anything to stop us winning - and sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if it worked. I'm almost certain he's serious. He supports two different football teams for fvck sake! He cannot possibly be serious
TrentFox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Any win at Elland Road is always a good day at the office, irrespective of the home team's form. A three point return would be fabulous, regardless of score or performance.

It's so generic and dull, Chelsea fans seem to one of the main proprietors of this dreadful craze to use Sloop John B for every song.
billfryers Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I hope we win but would be very happy with a draw. 5 wins in a row hopefully it will be 6 but it is leeds away...
