foxes_rule1978 Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 DIdn't we get a ridiculous away run in league one? The number 11 sticks in my mind, I cant remember if that's an 11 game unbeaten run or an 11 game winning run. I think we went 23 games unbeaten home and away, it may be 11 away games unbeaten not won.
GingerrrFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Many apologies I should have actually used Wiki for our own ground as well. Oh look I just have. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Court Must be a misprint. To me it looks like it says 105x78 metres. What do you think Gingerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr? How can I be a loser and a genius at the same time? Sorry to break it to you but your pitch is not 85 yards (78 metres) wide. The biggest pitch size currently in English football is the Etihad which is only 78 yards wide (71 metres).
VinceNoir Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Oh God, what a shit thread this is! Who gives a fvck about which pitch is bigger?! On topic: It's another tough away match. Obviously hope we make it 9, but Bournemouth are a decent side and more than capable of getting points on the board on Saturday. That said, I think we might nick it by the odd goal.

Actually the width of a pitch has a lot do with results in football. Why do you think Stoke under Tony Pulis made their pitch drastically narrower? Because they were a bunch of big bastards who wanted an advantage, especially when it came to Rory Delap's long throw. Teams like us who like to play expansive passing football are disadvantaged by a narrow pitch and it is one of the reasons why we have struggled at teams like Millwall (very narrow pitch).

I think you forgot to put the word FACT at the end Gingerrrrrrrrrrr I've no idea why people get so worked up about getting worked up about getting worked up about what other fans say about their club. It's called rivalry. Without it football would not exist.
MC Prussian Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 When Bournemouth fans start to take on the "my pitch is bigger than yours" argument, you know the debate is heading in the wrong direction.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 The apalling weather turning their small pitch into a bog concerns me the most. Anything like the conditions 1st half against Boro would negate our fast flowing football. This will be a tough game.

Bluetintedspecs Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Where's happy clapper gone? Just saying what Ifeel bud, if it's a bog it will be a leveller. Do you realise that being happy clappist is contravening of the 2014 BTS act?

So going on that bournemouth could be another record

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Very tough game coming up against Bournemouth. Will be close
Bluetintedspecs Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I think it'll be a draw Sat my man.. 2-2 If the pitch is ok I say we win, if a bog any result is possible!

If you say it is then you will make a lot of people very upset.

Guest ttfn Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I think my favourite post on the Bournemouth forum is this Bigger clubs at this level: Birmingham Blackburn Bolton Brighton (maybe) Derby Leeds Middlesbrough Notts Forest QPR Reading (maybe) Sheff WedRead more: http://www.bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=61944&start=41&posts=56#ixzz2rvAVOqXe Great effort to be fair.

Carl the Llama Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I think my favourite post on the Bournemouth forum is this Great effort to be fair. Considering the lowest plosition I could find for us in the various all-time tables available on the internet is 26th (we place as high as 22nd if Wikipedia's to be believed), you can't fault him for effort.

I understand that. And I'm sorry to go off the pre-match topic here, but I was referring to how you and the Bournemouth lad were bitching about who has the biggest pitch.
Leicester_Numan Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 No 4 away wins is our previous best that we have just equalled. A fifth away win on saturday would be our best ever. I should have really said equalled but they still set a record 4 consecutive away league wins, they just didn't set a new record
red5 Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I think my favourite post on the Bournemouth forum is this Great effort to be fair. Think they missed a few, Ipswich Wigan Blackpool Watford All bigger than us sherly, We're so tin-pot we're nearly as small as them
ithuriel Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Do not know why but I'm reminded of Grimsby , still, if they keep on trying perhaps they can be the new Blackpool in a decades time.
deanolegend1989 Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Wednesday and Leeds are the only 2 'bigger' clubs than us. Forest have a good history but since late 90s have nothing. Weve been far better between 96-current day and yes thats including are awful 04-08 spell. Derby? what a joke, just because they have a 'rival'. Its just the fact we never won the league title as others have. However as a fanbase, size of stadium/city, club, history etc we are up there with any from this league and even quite a few from the Premiership Only 2 or 3 from this league + maybe 10-12 of the Prem are bigger...If the top 20 biggest clubs automatically made up the Premier League we'd be in IMO.
