Leicester_Loyal Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 We won't beat that record, no way. We might reach 100 points if we keep playing well. However, I expect 95 points and I'd be chuffed with that.
johnny the fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I shall be disappointed if we don't wrack up 110 points.
Guest ttfn Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Breaking that record is a non-starter. Apart from Reading that one season, we've got the highest points total for about 15 years. That seems amazing and it is - but Reading had 69 points after 28 games - 6 more than us, which when you consider the run we've been on is incredible.
Corky Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 They were incredible that year, lost two games, remarkable. I think that 100 points is achievable especially if we are promoted with games to spare, would love to see us when we are relaxed.
Guest ttfn Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 That Reading fan's a lot more confident about out chances than I am. I'd snap your arm off for 92 points right now.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 No way are we beating that record, think even 100 points is pretty unlikely if I'm honest. I'd take 92 plus, that would give us promotion.

I'd take 92 plus, that would give us promotion. 37 points from 54, will be very tough but if we get to 41 games with 85 points then the way Pearson tends to end the season I wouldn't be surprised to see us go very close. Although a league record would be amazing, promotion is most important but it would be great to maintain this consistency until May 3rd.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Id like 98+ a hundred would be amazing
Brooksy Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 If we could manage that we'd be on 35 wins which would be an amazing achievement. I'd take 2nd place if offered now though without a doubt.
Mark_from_USA Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Leicester's points return, averaged out for the remaining 18 games, would see us ending up with 103 points. Our current return already reflects one blip, in December. 100 points would actually be a drop in form.
Corky Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 We'd be nowhere near in that scenario. At least 6 points away. In Pearson's first spell, in the last six games of each season we picked up 14 and 15 points. Last two years, when we've been mid-table we picked up 10 in 2012 and last year, after an appalling run and very tough fixtures we managed 9. So if we are confident and on the verge of promotion you'd think we'd play with plenty of freedom. Anyway, I'm getting far too carried away
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 When you read that article... It's very achievable but who knows, this is football
ithuriel Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 This ain't snooker son.. Drop playing the white ball, get a black one and yes, I already know what is coming

If we're on 85 points after 41 games we wouldn't be able to match their record. Am I missing something here?

Nick Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I'd like to not crumble and finish at least second. Anything after that I'd be made up!
