Simon Grayson

Will always be remembered for lifting the play off trophy and breaking our Wembley voodoo. Would you have him as right back in your all time Leicester XI? I'd probably put Gary Mills ahead of him (or am i forgetting a more obvious contender?!) but Stringer said to me in an interview last week that he'd have Grayson in his team (of players he's seen live). Thought he was gonna be a future Leicester manager until a couple of years ago.

Great signed pic of him and walsh btw eastfox!

Beautiful image. I hear the many great storys of Simon Gayson by my friend uncle, his favorite City player. I am looking forward to hear many more from this thread.

I have his autograph somewhere in an old school notebook along with a bunch of other players from that era.

Ahhh the old days of going to get your heroes signatures when it wasn't just a case of checking into any social media connection to turn up at the megastore where everyone's waiting. No, we had to hunt! Goodtimes.

I will say I won't have a bad word to say anout any ex servant unless they badmouth the club. And some respect was lost when he became manager of Leeds and intended that they were better than us.

Very reliable right back.

I remember when he went to villa was absolutely gutted!

Watching that makes me miss only one thing from our MON days. The aerial superiority of our players. We were imperious. The days when free kicks were always opportunities to have actually score a goal and you knew it would happen.

Our best ever midfield: Izzet, Lennon and Parker. Sav can do one despite what he thinks.

Theo zagorakis was a better player than Savage, just a shame he never really settled.

I remember having a hug with Claridge on leaving the ground that night as he was doing a radio interview in the car park (???!!) post-match. Also love how, as Grayson's header comes out of the net Prior, (I think), hammers it back in again and then turns, expectantly, looking for someone to hug him!! You'd hope he had a better grasp of the basics than that!!!

We had Mills at RB for Grayson's first couple of the years. He didn't play much and when he did it was as a utility. He had a great 93-94 season when Mills was injured, but was fairly woeful once we'd been promoted. Yet he pulled himself back together, had a decent 95-96 and also did quite well in 96-97, though I thought we looked better on the few occasions that Kaamark played RB.

Best ever RB? Not a chance. But a decent enough player.

What about Weller-Sammels-Birch-Glover?

Looking at some of the midfielders we've had it's a shambles we've not won more honours.

It's a shame, nay, a disgrace that everyone remembers Savage as part of our great 90s midfield yet Parker never gets mentioned.
