Currently enjoying my youth gaming days as game pass are releasing Final Fantasy games in order every 4 weeks. Done 1 and 2 with all chievos. Number 3 out next week. Can remember certain bits of the games ive played so far. Just brings back so many memories of why i fell in love with gaming. Also amazing how games have progressed through the years.

Just seen this in the online store.

You need Ultimate Game Pass, though.

It's a steal if you use it for the first 14 days – if you wait long enough, you can get all the first six FF by July/August for about a tenner.

Resident Evil Requiem out tomorrow.  I'd get it, but 60 quid for a 15 hour game is steep.  Getting plenty of praise though, one of the best in the series.  Looks incredible on Ps5 Pro.

It's a good game, wouldn't call it great. Solid. And fair. Not overly challenging.

The beginning is very cutscene-heavy, there's little actual gameplay. It improves with time, however.

Currently trying to find my way out of the mansion, I have two out of three key items.

Tempted by RE Requiem. Looks great and I love RE games ever since I was a kid.

Decided to carry on my play through of RE 3 which I started three years ago and never finished. Also got to finish RE 7 BioHazard so going to get them completed before I pick up Requiem.

I like to get around 40 to 65% through a game and then start on a different game.

My problem is I never fully get through a game once a different game comes out that tickles my fancy lol

Might as well finish off these games because by the time I get around to finishing them hopefully Requiem will have gone down in price.

Playing through Ex 33 and hit a right block fighting Renoir in the monolith. I'm clinging on by the time he gets to his rage stage and then i'm toast shortly afterwards. Might have to abort and go and build the characters up a bit.

My issue is that I only concentrate on three characters - the other two are just there for the sake of it it seems and can't get the hang of using them. They're so bad that I don't even bother sending the reserve party in as just looking at them will kill them off. Determined to not lower the difficulty just yet though!

Renoir had me at his mansion for ages.  At the monolith I found him much easier although he still took a few tries.  Just keep trying different setups, you'll get him eventually.  Who's in your main three?  In terms of characters in turn based RPGs, I've rarely used everyone,  until this game.  Maelle became totally OP and Verso was my weakest.  I've seen setups where Verso destroys everything though, just depends on your setup.

Its a fantastic game, I'll be back with it for a second playthrough at some point this year.

Not sure how, or if, Village ties into this one in any way (and I dont want to know!) but I'd recommend Village after Biohazard just to see Ethan's storyline through.

RE3 is decent but short.  RE2 Remake was the better of the two.  RE4 Remake was brilliant.

I'm pretty sure RE Zero is getting the remake treatment next.

As for Requiem, I have a long list to get through already, and 60 quid for 10 hours game time is not justifiable right now.  It'll be great, but it can wait.

Requiem doesn't have any story ties to RE7 or Village from what I've seen so far. It's primarily lore from RE2, and Outbreak 1+2 and copies game-play formulas from RE1 and RE4 really with first person elements of RE7/8.

If you take your time you are getting min 14 hours from the experience but yes still relatively pricey.

Village is one that I’ve not even played so it’s fair to say I should probably get Bio Hazard done and then move to Village before Requiem.

Got pissed off as the game just started to feel like it was bordering on the unfair with some of the later bosses. Ended up dropping difficulty level and cruising through as wanted to see how the story progressed

Anyone bothered with Marathon? Don't think I really feel the need for another extraction shooter with Tarkov and Arc covering most ends of the spectrum.

I ended up doing the same to achieve the platinum.  Act 3 post game was difficult in places still though.  The gestral volleyball game was the most irritating too lol

A hideously ugly hero shooter with bullet sponge enemies, eye bleeding visuals, sweatlord movement and "ranked" extraction from the people that brought you Destiny 2?

I'm alright mate tbh

RE Requiem is great but it’s a pain in the arse save wise. I’ve lost about 45 mins worth of progress twice and have just been scrambling around with 1 bullet trying to find an ink cartridge to save it again 😂

I'm playing Marathon, but I have never played an extraction shooter or Destiny so its totally new to me. I'm enjoying it a lot but I have to say that I'm fairly useless at it. I pity the randoms who get matchmade with me and have to watch me blundering into gunfire over and over again.

Right I cracked and got Marathon which was stupid given Crimson Desert is out next week.

That said, it’s so good. It reminds me of early PUBG where there’s genuine apprehension when playing as you’re trying to figure out the sound of footsteps coming. The PVE enemies are absolutely brutal which is nice as adds to the challenge. The way you’ve got different roles like on Apex also mixes it up nicely as you’ve got lots of different ways to keep it interesting.

But yeah, pleasantly surprised at how good this is and I’ve found myself enjoying this more than I did with Arc which is the obvious comparison even if they’re quite different.

Just played through Neva today. Beautiful game. Recommend if you liked Gris, it’s by the same team. Basically the same game with a different theme.
