Swarles Barkley Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Didnt see any forum on this so I though i'd start one Kicks off on sunday with hosts Bangladesh playing Afghanistan. England's first game is next Saturday against New Zealand. Dont fancy our chances to do well especially considering it being in sub-continent conditions but you never know Personally think India will win it
Voll Blau Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Not backing us either, but it's a bit of a lottery and we do have players who are more than capable of producing match-winning performances. Would love to see West Indies do well again, but then I always want them to do well in any format.

Laid back, carefree, non elitist all to the soundtrack of 'I don't like Cricket'... Chris Gayle is a beast with the bat too. Hoping for Ireland to qualify for the Super 10 and maybe producing a shock win or two along the way...
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 India to win as the pitches will be similar to what they are used to. Could be a tournament where spinners play a big role.
leicsmac Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Tipping Sri Lanka. They have Chucker Malinga who's an excellent death bowler, and more importantly they've just toured Bangla so they've got good knowledge of the pitches and conditions already. Though to be honest 20/20 Internationals always tend to be something of a crap shoot that comes down to whoever has the better day at the office.
purpleronnie Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 we struggle against spin so can't see us doing anything, looking forward to it though.
dogadug Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Ireland just beat Zimbabwe. Came down to the last ball, but just managed to scramble a single from a bye
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Competition will be garbage until the weekend, and by the looks of it I'll miss most of the games this weekend as well, I'm not getting up a 930 to watch it on Saturday.
Corky Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I like this format, gives the minnows a chance to play competitive cricket and get some real practice in before facing the top teams.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I like this format, gives the minnows a chance to play competitive cricket and get some real practice in before facing the top teams. You have to put up with a pointless week of cricket though, if their going to do it like this they may as well set up a qualification stage instead.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I like this format, gives the minnows a chance to play competitive cricket and get some real practice in before facing the top teams. How come England aren't in this bit of the comp then ?
purpleronnie Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 We hit 1 six in another defeat by west indies.
Guest MattP Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Backing Sri Lanka as well, team looks perfectly balanced in conditions that should suit. We are awful. How have we gone from World Cup winners to having this side in a couple of years?
theessexfox Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 There are ridiculous amounts of stats on everything... there's such a thing as being over-analytical.
Swarles Barkley Posted 21 March 2014 Author Posted 21 March 2014 Unbelievable by the dutch. What an innings! What are their bats made of
purpleronnie Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 What are their bats made of Hopefully Elm when we play them.
Nalis Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 There are ridiculous amounts of stats on everything... there's such a thing as being over-analytical. Delicious pun
Guest MattP Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Unbelievable by the dutch. What an innings! What are their bats made of Couldn't believe it when I saw the result.
StanSP Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 India going well right now! Skittled Pakistan down to 115-6 with an over to go.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Unbelievable by the dutch. What an innings! What are their bats made of Ireland must be gutted. Well done the Dutch though knocking that total off with 6overs still left, amazing.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 March 2014 Posted 24 March 2014 Good to see Tommy Cooper play well for the dutch, 6 sixes in 15 balls is bloody decent.
Guest MattP Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 One of the biggest shocks ever on the cards here.
Captain... Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Stuck it on to watch the Saffers slog the Dutch around as my backdrop to work, been engrossed all morning (sorry boss) come on the Dutch, wicket in the first over set the tone. SA have been poor, but credit to the Dutch, I'm wearing my orange clog slippers in support.
Guest MattP Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Been a bit of a bottle job here, they need to realise they have 20 overs to get this, see off Tahir and Steyn rather than trying to slog them out the park.
