Is Vardy a diver?

Recommended Posts

I think if I was a supporter of another team, I'd think so too, but only cus I dont know shit.

He's too quick, so when he gets tackled they either miss him completely or he goes flying. Simple

No, of course he's not

But , some of the other fans in this league seem convinced that he's a cheater

Sour grapes ?

Does he dive to get penalties? No.

Does he use his pace, brain and skill to get penalties? Yes.

I saw a few Tweets yesterday claiming that he was. I must've missed him diving! Load of bollocks.

I hear a few Blackpool fans singing "Who's that falling over again its Jamie Vardy, It's Jamie Varrrrrrdy" to the tune of what's that coming over the hill

He went down easily at one point yesterday, although not on the same scale as Knockaert trying to cheat his way to a penalty.

The ref gave Vardy absolutely nothing yesterday which is why Blackpool fans are labelling him a diver. Personally I thought it was the ref being useless rather than Vardy diving though.

Think the thing to remember is that when you're travelling as quickly as he does, it probably wouldn't take a lot of contact to knock you off balance.

Edit: Don't forget Blackpool were also heavily linked with Vardy when we signed him, it's probably just annoying for them that they have to watch David Goodwillie and Ricardo Fuller every week whilst we have Vardy (as well as them losing both GTF and Phillips).

He is pacey and lightweight, you get a big defender get it wrong and he is going up in the air in spectacular fashion.

He has no real need to dive, yesterday he had enough chances to get at least two goals that seemed nailed on but it was not his day.

He runs at such pace that when he falls he looks like he's been hit by a car, which opposition fans can be forgiven for thinking is slightly theatrical. In no way a diver though. He wouldn't have won anything with those tactics in the conference.

I wasn't aware getting taken out was a dive these days? Besides whenever one of the Blackpool players yesterdays went shoulder to shoulder with one of our players yesterday they just threw themselves to the ground, and shamefully the ref called it every time.

he gets a lot of penalties the same way Zaha did last season (another labelled a diver). he's quick and has good feet and the chamionship has its fair share of slow donkey defenders who make mistakes against a player with a lot of pace.
