Rincewind Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 An interesting and well thought out blog post. I was there when the questionnaire was produced and can confirm the questions asked were genuine. http://downnotoutleicester.wordpress.com/2014/03/18/homeless-not-brainless-leicester-thinks-homeless-people-cant-fill-in-surveys/

It would be a good idea, but no chance would he stick to it and Webbo doesnt want to be moving 20 odd posts a day from thread to thread.
Corky Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Sorry Ken, but there is no address to send the thank you letter for completing the survey to
FoxesAreBlue Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Can I just point out the I and many others are now aware that there are homeless people in Leicester. I for one have donated food, hot drinks and purchased the Big Ish at double price, I'm sure others have done similar.
Mark_w Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 They've sorted out the logo! Edit: Oh right, homeless people, cool.

Guest MattP Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 I haven't, I am still in denial. I'm with this. Been out quite a bit in town recently and struggling find any homeless people and I refuse to believe Boris has sent them all to the chambers.

Guest MattP Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 Perhaps Ken's got them all in his basement? Well if he thinks thats getting him out of paying the bedroom tax he's got another think coming.
Saxondale Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 I'll fill in your questionnaire if you send it to me with a complimentary DNO biro.
Rincewind Posted 19 March 2014 Author Posted 19 March 2014 The questionaire is not available to the general well housed public. It is something that the homeless have to fill in. One question. What would make your situation better? Possible answer. Find me somewhere to live? Another question asks why they visit drop in centres. Food and warmth by any chance? Dumb questions.
Merging Cultures Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 I thought the blog was poorly written. I don't understand the authors anger. They might be dumb questions, but most surveys are. I am sure the council has a hypothesis they are trying to prove. The answers to the questions will do that. Asking whether the homeless visit food banks because of the atmosphere isn't bad. If they say yes, it could suggest that the homeless value the opportunity to socialise and meet with people who care and want to help. "However, the City Council will go out of their way to provide you with help to fill in one of their questionnaires which should give your opinion. The reality being – if you accept their help your opinion will go straight out of the window." If the council didn't help then people would complain that the questionnaires were inaccessible. And does the author really think that the council would listen to your answer and then write something completely different? Sometimes I wish people would get their heads out of their rear ends and stop thinking everyone is out to screw them over.
The People's Hero Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 There's a homeless guy I see regularly who is nasty to everyone. He has a dog and two ferrets, all on three separate bits of rope. He makes disgusting comments to women and threatens men. I think he's trying to get arrested but the police don't want to give him the satisfaction. He has quite a keen eye though. He called one of my mates a 'round faced wan ker' the other day. I'd never really studied his face before but it is indeed almost perfectly round. I've also seen him move from his usual spot to nearer w h smith so he can hurl abuse at the big issue seller. It wouldn't surprise me if he has a house somewhere but prefers taking his dog and two ferrets out with immediate access to a steady stream of people to abuse. I'll miss him when he upsets a pissed up pikey or we have a nice cold winter.

Jon the Hat Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 Honestly some people will complain about anything. You should be happy the council are tyring to get input on what to do better. Jesus christ!
