Bob Weasel Fox Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Great original post Fez Spot on, what a player!!!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Can anyone else think of a better set-up for Knocky to have chosen as his first foray into English football? The defensive side of his game in particular has improved massively under Pearson. He isn't afraid to get clattered now; the way he won the ball for that goal against Charlton shows how hard he is willing to work regardless of whether he gets decked or not. Pearson's insistence that English is the language of the dressing room has obviously improved his English a lot as well. And I wonder how many managers could have given Knocky exactly what he needed after the horrific end to last season, knowing the right moment to pat him on the back or kick him up the arse. He couldn't have picked a better place to start a career in this country imo.
phillo Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 class act in the champiomship one of the most skill full players to wear a leicester shirt a great find by our scouts to must give them praise
kingfox Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I still think he is vastly overrated by many fans. He can either be unplayable or offer absolutely nothing, and in recent weeks there has been some games where I've thought, he has offered absolutely nothing. He is a hard working player, but a player who tries a bit too hard at times. I still think he has a lot of learning to do yet, he isn't the finished article by a long way. He is more than capable of making an impact in the Premier League, but I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't that influential next season. The thing I really like about Knockaert though, is his passion, you cannot fault it.

Poiseuille Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 There was a period in the game yesterday when I was getting very frustrated with him. But as someone else has said, his determination to win a ball back when he looses it is unbelievable. Obviously, this is something the fans will/do love, but in the premiership he will get punished for loosing the ball and won't be able to make it up with his 'passion'. Still needs to improve on that side of the game but I agree he has improved hugely from last season. If he continues to improve then we will have a top premiership player on our hands.
kingfox Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 why u gotta do this man That's my opinion at the minute. He can be unplayable or offer nothing. He is similar to his fellow Frenchman, Hatem Ben Arfa, reminds me very much of him.
lgfualol Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 He's brilliant, getting better defensively and I think his fitness has improved hugely. Doesnt look so tired anymore. I just get a bit annoyed when he is tackled or loses possession and just puts his arms in the air or complains instead of getting on with it.
Albert Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 As an all round footballer he just gets better and better. Personally after what happened last season I'd love for him to score THE goal that takes us to the Promise land
weller54 Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Him and Mahrez will light up the premier league next season.. Think they'll shine against the quality teams that 'let ' you play football.. In many ways it's been harder for the skilful/flare players like knockaert and Mahrez to play and shine against the likes of Yeovil etc!!... Think Mahrez will flourish in the Premier league, he's so classy!!.. What a find!!
davieG Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I think a fair amount of the change in him can also be credited to Pearson as I suspect the reason he didn't always start was to enable him to see how to adapt his game. The more he has done the more he started. Judging from the pre signing videos of Mahrez it was already part of his Game style to play a more full game.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 March 2014 Author Posted 30 March 2014 Funny to think now Knocky didn't make the squad for the opening game of the season.
Bert Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 He's added so much to his game. Totally different player to the raw young lad we had when he signed. A lot of that is down to the coaching staff but also due to the work he's put in himself. Still as joyful to watch as ever, can create something out of nothing but will work tirelessly to do his best for the team. Deserves to be playing in the prem and I'm delighted he'll be doing so with us.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I agree totally with the above. He should become more consistent as time progresses, but will he hold a regular place in the side next season?
Langston Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Love watching them both. After the wingers we had under Levein, Kelly, Holloway etc, it's a bloody privilege. Hang on - are you really saying Knockaert is better than Joe Hammill?! Somebody ban this chap's account, that's ludicrous.
Number 6 Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Been very impressed with him. Always wants the ball and always tried to make things happen, even on his off days. His tracking back is also right up there and he gives us the same level of performance for the full 90 now.
CountesthorpeFox Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 May have been discussed in other threads but do we know why he was having such an animated "discussion" with Nugent when Nugent was substituted?
Bert Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 May have been discussed in other threads but do we know why he was having such an animated "discussion" with Nugent when Nugent was substituted?Nugent was getting annoyed with Knocky shooting in daft positions when there was better options on.
CountesthorpeFox Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Nugent was getting annoyed with Knocky shooting in daft positions when there was better options on. Ah. I saw Nigel put his arm round Knocky and have a long weird in his ear as they approached the tunnel at full time, presume it was related to that.
MC Prussian Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I've been very impressed by Knockaert's workrate so far - he's putting in an extra shift in almost every game. Granted, it doesn't always work, but compared to last season, he's improved tenfold. He's much better at tracking back, doesn't shy away from tackles, even goes for headers and can play across the middle in all sorts of positions.
MGLCFC Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 People talk about the progress Vardy has made, I think you could say the same about Knockaert. Whilst Knockaert started from a much higher base line, the amount he's added to his game in a key position is phenomenal. He also seems to a have a good engine as he's still busting a gut for any lost cause right up until the final whistle. If Mahrez makes the same progress next year we'll have 2 quality wingers in the Prem.

I agree, he has a lot to learn about team play and chosing the best option If he could think 1 sec more before he makes the play,,,,, Best game in a long while at Burnley especially in mdifeld (unlucky goal didnt happen) He needs to improve if he will make the first team next year though
