glenelgfox Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 10 long up and down years (seasons) about to end with promotion and hopefully not the normal LCFC yoyo of up and down after a season or two come next season. The last 10 years have delivered me from the other side of the world more downs than ups especially given the limited "live" vision we get down under! Lowlights: Relegation from EPL was bad enough but watching us live slide into L1 was was the lowest point just ahead of that French twats penalty in the playoffs against Cardiff. Highlights: Listening to BBC Leicester live in the early hours when Howard thundered home the header in the dying minutes of our L1 clash vs Leeds. That was just marginally behind last Sats game against Burnley when Wood cracked in the 2nd goal - running around my lounge room in delight, screaming and waking the neighbours after finally realising that even we (LCFC) couldn't mess it up from here. Long live the LCFC and the roller coaster we choose to ride on!
Fox92 Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Lowpoint was between late 2004 and early 2008 when we knew we'd just end in relegation. The game against Sheffield Wednesday really confirmed it, although we could have stayed up with something at Stoke. When McAuley hit the outside of the post as well! ... I'm really pleased with what Nige did in his first season. Promotion from League One, never mind smashing the league, wasn't an easy task and we've seen other big clubs not do the same - Leeds, Southampton, Nottingham Forest etc... Gutted when Nige left but pleased when he returned; I love the guy. He's certainly got us going this season, what a squad!
Liamlcfc1 Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 The end of last season was hard but was the best thing to happen to us look at Watford now
Miltonfox Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Aged 15 I became a season ticket holder in 2004-2005 hoping for an immediate return to the Prem... After 10 seasons I may finally be a season ticket holder of a Premier League club! I cannot wait! Soooo many ups and downs, what a ride! Can't wait for Wigan tomorrow!
Kitchandro Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Good riddance! We have had some good times in the last 10 years, but it has been frustration on the whole. I think most of us have tried to block 2004-2008 out of their minds. Howard's winner at Leeds definitely my favourite moment.
glenelgfox Posted 31 March 2014 Author Posted 31 March 2014 Having never seen the foxes live (in the flesh) I take some comfort from the other side of the globe in hearing and seeing the emotion after goals like Wood scored Sat. It was as loud an away crowd I have heard for many a season from the travelling foxes. Good luck to all who will get to be at the game when we officially gain promotion! Jealous yes but like every other week this year I shall wear my city shirt with pride and bask in the glory from sunny old Adelaide!
DB11 Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Lowest was 26/04/2008 3-1 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday. At that point I think I realised that we were getting relegated. High was Howard home to Leeds in League One, followed by Blackpool away when Dyer scored. They are what come to my mind straightaway.
whoareyaaa Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 I think not going up last season has done us the world of good and set us up to stay in the Prem. The team has had another full season playing together with a few additions in the summer and with Pearson at the helm there is no reason we can't repeat what we did under MON. It's certainty been hard work over the last 10 years to support the club through the difficult times but guess what... WE ARE GOING UP
XLM Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 My mind takes me back to Sheffield Wednesday at home in the year we were relegated to League 1. The frustration, pain and anguish when Hume put that penalty wide and fans began throwing season tickets on the pitch... Probably my worst memory at the Walker Stadium in all honesty. Words can't describe how it feels that Sheffield Wednesday at home on friday might be the game that we seal our promotion back into the best league in world football.
Langston Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Virtually all highs since our relegation a decade ago are Pearson related. I can think of the cup win against Spurs but about sod all else sans Nige. What a bloody bloke.

lgfualol Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Thank god, **** the championship. Exciting to think of players like Suarez and Hazard being in Leicester.
davieG Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Low point Interim high point High point still to come. ???????????
Itsthejoeker Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Low point Interim high point High point still to come. ??????????? I love how Pearson goes for the header!
MC Prussian Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 It's not frustration to me. The majority of the last ten years have been marred by frustration occasionally (maybe right after coming back down from the Premiership, the relegation to League One and missing out on promotion in the playoffs against Cardiff and then Watford a few years later). The dull and mediocre years in between I feel no frustration for. I'd rather sum them up with the terms apathy and ignorance. As others have stated, vindication is a better word for how I feel. We're reaping the fruits of the seeds that have been planted a couple of years ago and it's nice to see the club, the management, the players and the fans getting rewarded for the patience and planning.
CosbehFox Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 The worst points for me were watching the likes of Jason Jarrett, Andy Johnson and Josh Low showcase their abilities at our ground. It was always enough to see off Coventry but there was never even that glimmer of excitement we when Levein's team were inspired by Ryan Smith to see off Sheffield United or even with Kelly at first when Gudjonsson inserted himself in folk lore with the goal against Hull. It was boring, inane, middle of road football.

Long live the LCFC and the roller coaster we choose to ride on! I celebrated howards header as much as i celebrated Nugents late goal against leeds this season...... Lovely place you live by the way, ive caught the train from adelaide a few times
Callabinho Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 We've had to sit through some shit! I feel sorry for the kids who missed out on our decade, hopefully they will see one for themselves now! Future is bright!
Tom's Pasta Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 They do say you have to experience the lows to fully appreciate the highs. One hell of a high we're on right now, and to think how far we've come. Great time to be a Leicester fan
Swalker Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 10 years ago I got a season ticket This year I left for uni so didn't get a season ticket! So annoying that the first season that I don't get to every game is when we do this
Agent Fox Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 My first official date with the missus was that Sheff Weds game, I swore my head off...
The Year Of The Fox Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 Low points- The playoff defeats. Both the lowest I've ever felt. Relegation had nothing on that. We'd been crap for years. Highs- Spurs in the FA Cup comeback, Forest away last season and Burnley just gone. Thank you Top, Nige, his staff and all our players for giving us a club to be proud of once again
Stadt Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 I started supporting us around the 2006/07 season, why I stuck with us I'm not sure That Forest game, Burnley, QPR, Cardiff away in the POs, even the Fulham cup game was mental.
Corky Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 The low points- 2004-08, with the exception of three months under Kelly we had the most miserable, depressing, boring time in the club's history possibly. Finishing positions of 15th, 16th, 19th and 22nd. 12 wins in 2004/05, 13 in 2005/06, 13 in 2006/07 and 12 in 2007/08. 50 league wins in 184 matches. 31 wins in 92 home matches. If it hadn't been for the recovery in February 2006 we may have gone earlier and not come back. We had so many poor players, a lack of ability, a lack of effort and survival was seen as an achievement, before even that was beyond us. The high points- 2008-now. We managed to achieve promotion at the first attempt, two play-offs since and now surely a second divisional title in five years. We've mixed pragmatic, functional football with fantastic, entertaining football. Finishes of 1st (in 3rd tier), 5th, 10th, 9th, 6th and hopefully another 1st, at least 2nd. 27 wins in 2008/09, 21 wins in 2009/10, 19 wins in 2010/11, 18 wins in 2011/12, 19 wins in 2012/13 and 26 in 38 this season. 130 wins in 268, much improved results and genuine hopes of top-flight football returning. Even the mid-table years saw some good football and we managed to be in and around the top six in every season. Hopefully the next 10 years will be full of top flight football, hopefully some highish finishes, cup runs (with trophies) and a trip into Europe.
