cityfanlee23 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Where does his future stand at Leicester city? Would love to hear your opinions, Discuss.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Still needed.. especially in more of an attacking midfielder role
Jimmy Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I think we'll wind up playing 433 a lot next season and King will be a big asset next season, it's no secret 442 isn't his best system but Andy King is a quality player and will score goals from midfield what ever level he's playing at and that's a vital thing
Bayfox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 As a squad player, on the bench, he's waited a long time to have a crack at the top flight, so can't see him leaving just yet. I still rate him maybe he could go play in the role Nugent has been, just off Vardy. But can't see him playing regular in a 2 man midfield in the top flight.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Classy player. Definitely one who has the ability to step up but he can't have any complaints about not being in the side when James and Drinkwater are playing so well. He's played a lot of football over the last few years so a break this season may even do him some good, he was certainly looking a little jaded at times last season. Having said that, I would hope that he will get a few games under his belt between now and the end of the season, particularly ahead of Hammond who I see as having no great use for us in The Premiership.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 As most think he is good enough for the PL and he has shown that he is happy to be part of a squad and undertake what he is asked to on the pitch unless we are bringing in a couple of new midfielders then I don't see why we should be looking for him to leave. That said if he choose to leave due to lack of first team football then all the best to him.

indierich06 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Definitely keep him. Will be a good squad player in the PL.
MrSpaM Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Asking him to leave would be pretty stupid imo. Only way I can see him going is if he wants to play more reguarly and he asks for a transfer. Considering Kingy has been through all of this the same as we have I cant see him leaving when we finally make it to the promised land.

Corky Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Still got plenty to offer. Is suffering personally because Drinkwater and James are so good, a bit like Wood with Nugent and Vardy. Good players in their own right. Pearson rates him and I can't see him leaving.
Richard Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 its amazing that we're discussing here a player who I can't even remember the last game he started yet we're all in agreement that he could quite easily make the step up to the prem. We really do have a lot of strength in depth
VinceNoir Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Hope he gets some game time tonight and scores the winner. I love Kingy and his faces
RizLCFC Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 He deserves a chance to play in the Premiership and show what he can do, he's been a very useful squad player this season.
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 April 2014 Author Posted 1 April 2014 What no Nugent LMHO What do you mean? I didnt mention im or vardy as I see wood being number 1 in time.. I didnt mention a 25 man squad I just mentioned who I'd like to see start and what positions I think we need to strengthen, but once again you pick up on the fact I didnt mention nugent when I also missed out a tonne of players... I said the other day he's done well since he got his form back, and could give him another year, Wouldnt be too fussed if we didnt though as there are better strikers out there.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 A quality player and one of the few who has experienced everything we have in the last few years. Him just being in the squad could be part of the reason Drinky and James are playing so well very week; they know there is good competition.
ScouseFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 His performance in the second leg at Watford last season deserved a lifelong contract
kingfox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 If we let him go for some reason, we would be making a massive mistake. I've always liked him as a player, he is a very reliable member of the squad, and what I like about King the most is, he can be a goalscoring threat in midfield, he is a player who once finished as our top scorer one season with about 15 goals. He is an international, who I believe could do a job in the Premier League, would I start him in the Prem, probably not, but he would be a very valuable squad member, and if called upon as I say he would be very reliable. Finally even though he isn't playing at the minute, over the past two season's I've seen development in his game, especially on the defensive side, he is more than capable of tracking back & winning balls, something we didn't really see from him around the years of 2009-2011.
Voll Blau Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Would love him to remain a one club man and he's said he's happy to stay with us. I know he's probably picking up a decent wedge these days but it's still pretty selfless in an age where egos rule the game.
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 April 2014 Author Posted 1 April 2014 I can see us playing a 4-3-3 as mentioned by somebody earlier, Sacrifice a Striker, And play andy as an attacking midfielder with James/Drink just behind... A goalscoring midfielder will be vital to us next season
Callabinho Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Kings a fantastic player, has his weaknesses but as do many, unfortunately he's behind an incredible partnership. Could start tonight though, I think Nigel will change it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Hmmmm. The usual Kingy 'love-in'.. Personally I think King may struggle in the Prem, for all the reasons I've previously stated. Even in a 4-3-3 I think we need a better third midfielder. Bring on all the 'you hate our players' type comments etc etc. I don't of course.. James and Drinkwater will cope with the pace and the strength of the Premiership. But I expect Pearson to go out in the summer and sign a third central midfielder who can offer more than King. Sorry... That said, I don't think we'll sell him and he will play some part as a decent squad player. IMO.

Now this is something I agree with, Think we need that real proven class as that level, Sell hammond and use king as a midfield sub (That actually gets a game maybe)
Corky Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Might be a bit sentimental but it would be nice for King and Dyer to play some part next season, having been the link with our lowest season in the last 10 years and with Pearson's first spell.
