UpTheLeagueFox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Andy Reid believes Nottingham Forest must copy Midlands rivals Leicester City to secure promotion next season. Full story > http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27048149
MC Prussian Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Excellent. That'll mean at least another two mediocre years for the Trees to come before they'll get anywhere near a playoff place.
Bert Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 What, win more games than anyone else? Surely that's a given.
LanguedocFox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 They've started with the right idea, by appointing Pearce as their manager, because he will take them down (or start the plunge at the very least) into the third tier. Then they can appoint a decent manager who will get them promoted at the first attempt, and then on to promotion to the Prem. No, I know it won't happen.

Has that ever really happened??
Alf Bentley Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Good player though Indeed. That stat in the box seems to confirm it: Forest have lost 4 out of 32 matches that Reid has played in - and 7 out of 10 that he hasn't played in. I know Davies going bonkers and other injuries must have been some influence, but that stat is surely not just a coincidence.
FrankieADZ Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 i thought they already had been? We appoint a former england manager....they do... we get new owners....they do... we bottle a good chance of promotion......they do.. so they've been doing it anyway
Fox92 Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 He's always been a good player. Very technically gifted.

That's one hell of a stat when it's that comprehensive then I doubt it's a coincidence. He's just saying what we all know anyway, we'd been telling them this for months.
Unabomber Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 He should stop copying GTF's Maccies order for a start.
Number 6 Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 They might havw to stick with the squad they have if ffp imposes a transfer ban.
digitalalba Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/nottingham-forest Forest must learn from Leicester
cjslcfc Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 All this "we want to do a Leicester" stuff coming out in the media from various clubs is just brilliant. Makes me feel great that everyone wants to be us, for once! Even better that it's coming from the teams that thought we would "bottle it again".
Saxondale Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 "Leicester came close at the end of last season and that disappointment galvanised them this season. That's what we're going to be looking at." Is he trying to imply that they will have been close to promotion this season? They're going to finish about 14th.

5waller5 Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 He'd need to lose a bit of timber if they adopted our style .... he'd be exhausted after ten minutes of playing at our tempo.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 There is no word I have come to dislike more than "galvanise". Why do football teams always have to be galvanised now? And why does it always have to "bode well"?
