Vlad the Fox Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 My eyes didn't deceive me then today. 1:56 shows at the right side of the goal a police officer hit a young city fan in a red jacket with his night stick who was walking back towards the stand after being turned back by a steward. If you agree with the city fan being on the pitch or not or any other aspect of his behaviour there is no denying it's an disproportionate act of thuggery on the part of the officer concerned. The problem is something like that can turn a harmless situation very ugly quickly and then it would have been us seen as the trouble makers. Apart from that incident I think they managed a harmless bit of celebrating on the pitch well.

Good pubs before the match, good away end and home supporters and despite it being a modern stadium it had an old football feel to it. And for once on a Northern away day the sun shined, usually the dark clouds and drizzle descend once we pass Leicester Forest East.

Good pubs before the match, good away end and home supporters and despite it being a modern stadium it had an old football feel to it. It was a fantastic away day for me, but lacked pubs imo, I went Yorkshire Rose had 2 pints and then they were queing to get in (I was sat outside) so moved on, I went the Gas Club but was turned away being told it was members only, sure I saw City fans in there though, considered going Rick's Bar but it was nearing on 2pm so decided to just go straight to the ground and have a few beers there.
bluesbrothers Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 I can only echo what 99% of the folks who were there have said - that the invasion was good-natured, that it was awesome to have a party with the players on the turf and that the Huddersfield fans were top banana through the whole episode. I too saw the coppers get their truncheons out - trust me, as someone living around the corner from South Yorks. police HQ, I'm fully aware that they're bastards up here, and it was totally unneccesary abuse of power. Still, won't let that mar a classic end to the best away day I've had in god knows how long. 'Udders, your lot rock. Edit: Re LCFCFOX's video, who's the fool next to you who seems to think the pitch invasion is akin to a Nazi Anschluss? Tell him to man up, and that Pearson will be fine.

Cost to park there but you took a tear off strip from the parking ticket to the bar and they refunded it off your bill so effectively free parking. They had black sheep on tap though unfortunately not the riggwelter, which we sat outside in the sun drinking by the marina. About 10-15 minute walk from the ground.

We were the rowdy bunch of lads outside (its a shame there's no other way to describe us)

You had to be quick to get in the gas club, Ausden Clark got to the ground early and we swamped the place and within minutes they stopped letting city in...
