MGLCFC Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Sponsors and TV have paid millions to sponsor the competition, they will not allow the presentation to not go-ahead pitch invasion or not. After yesterday, I'm not too bothered about going on the pitch - yesterday was not planned which made it perfect. I appreciate what you are saying, I'm just making the point that there will be planned celebrations - I always feel a pitch invasion should be spontaneous, not planned and often comes about by events at that moment in time. That is, you gain promotion or the title after either knowing you've done the job or on hearing other results.

We are all winners in this great season we have had. Memories will live long in all our lives and me for one wanna remember yesterday for what it was.. One of the best away days in my 32 years supporting our great club( was 8 wen the old boy first took me down) totally agree - nuff said - close thread
leftsideoverhere Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Pretty much a perfect day. Handshake with Pearson pre-match made the bike ride up there all the more worthwhile. My knees just about held me up for the duration of the game and I even made it down from row M for a little dance on the pitch. Great to see the players join in. I know a pitch invasion isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the "on the pitch" banter with the Huddersfield fans was top-notch, and the stewards being completely unable to deal with both sets of fans at the same time was quite funny. Don't really know why the Huddersfield kindergarten ran away, we weren't exactly threatening them, and I'm sure they could have joined our party no problem. Ony down side for me was seeing grown men trying to bully the shirts off Ritchie de Laet and Lloyd Dyer. That isn't going to encourage them to stay on the pitch with us, and it will only piss me off even more when the shirts in question end up on ****ing ebay. Honestly, let the players decide who to give their stuff to, OK? Otherwise, a perfect end to a perfect season of away trips. Saturday will be fun, too, but I genuinely cannot wait for a premier league away day. Who do I have to pleasure orally to make sure we don't get Hull away first up?

It amuses me being able to point out the jobs-worths and those who really don't give a shit.

Like i've said i'd like a pitch invasion but i'm not too bothered, especially now we had one yesterday, if it happens i'll join in but i'm not too bothered if it doesn't happen and if it did scupper the trophy ceremony or added celebrations i'd rather not do one, but I will enjoy the stewards and police trying their hardest on full alert, tbh I kinda want people queing up down the front, stewards shitting themselves, only for the fans to turn round and say you know what, we're only playing with you, look at the jobsworths. I will find it quiet amusing to see the stewards on full alert. We should get the 'On The Pitch' chants going just to wind them up and make them sweat abit.
Monsell1976 Posted 27 April 2014 Posted 27 April 2014 Whats passionate and fun about running onto a pitch we are grown men not 3 year oldsWelcome to the modern football fan, what does age have to do with it, just because some of the older generation have turned into victor meldrew, doesn't mean everybody has to.What the **** has the way anybody celebrates got to do with anyone else, if you are boring and want to sit in the stand and clap, go for it, if you want to run on the pitch and celebrate with the manager and players ( who by the look of it enjoy the interaction with fans), go for it all to their own. Just accept people are different, my point is no harm was done, and those that sat in the stands and those that went on the pitch, all enjoyed it in their own way. I know it is along time since some of us were teens, but I know in my teens we were on the pitch whenever we could, the joys of being young and carefree.

Honestly, let the players decide who to give their stuff to,Yeah saw that on YouTube someone trying to get lloyds shirt off him while he was trying to give his shirt to a kid im sure no harm was meant but you could see Lloyd getting pissed off. If that was to happen on last day I really think that the players might be put off doing a lap of honour especially if we go on the pitch.

I didn't go onto the pitch but some young hooligans barged past me and I almost lost my flask in the process, just glad I didn't take my blanket along yesterday, but I have no problem with the track suited community for endulging in one of their ambitions in life. Its always been part of football for years . people are saying the team wont lift the trophy etc .a few points i would like to make (1) like someone said the platfom will be in front of west stand .The east stand 3/4 of the family stand and the kop the platform will be out of view . (2) we will see a closer look on monday at the parade . (3) A even closer look when the club anounce new kit launch.stating the championship trophy will be on show in club shop on the day. (4) burnley at home in promotion season 82/83 the fans went on the pitch and the team came out standing on the old main stand nr where the directors sit .so why not do the same next saturday SO WE ALL HAVE A GOOD VIEW. thought when we won the league 1 title it was very rude to most of the fans.on that friday night 08/09 season.. so lets do it and enjoy the day. im in if everyone else is ..up the city .

Personally like I've said before don't see the point to a pitch invasion but as long as it's good natured I don't see the harm each to their own That's a load of bollocks, as if they are going to cancel the presentation. They'll do what they always do in that situation - wait for everyone to clear the pitch and then go on with what was planned. People telling you things will be cancelled is just an attempt at deterring people from going on to the pitch.

In a moment of elation, a last minute goal, a game that wins us promotion, in a moment I'm not even thinking about it fully I'd most probably run on the pitch with everyone else. A preplanned, going on the pitch for the sake of going on the pitch doesn't do much for me and if it happens it will undoubtedly look half hearted, as without the heat of the moment stuff they are never at their best.

It happens at the end of every season at ours and as long as theres no trouble I think the club don't mind. Agreed we had nothing really to celebrate but does it really matter? I think its a good way to finish of your last home game. See if you can pat your players on the back etc before they get off the pitch. I never make it on that quickly as I leisurely stroll on. What did make me chuckle was as the ref was about to blow his whistle he made damn sure he was at the tunnel entrance/exit and he legged it faster than our young supporters did when your lads took a few steps forward. Have to say the Leicester fans deserve credit , you came up in numbers and the fans I spoke to were sound. Also agree with previous comments on here with regards to pitch invading.....the police/stewards cant hold back a flood of people and they wont ban you for entering the pitch if theres loads of you. Enjoy yourselves on the last game, have a party and good luck for next season. Dave
