Kitchandro Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Agree it's pathetic. They pay millions of pounds for rights to games so let them decide whatever game they want and when they want to show it. If you don't agree with it then go and support a conference south side. That comment just makes you look really stupid. Please try to think before typing.
Beliall Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Z$ky... for Sky Africa. WHAT!!!!!!!! The Forest game was on the red button? Please tell me this isn't true and I wasn't sat huddled around the radio for nothing. i was watching SSN for updates!
jimmeh Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 That comment just makes you look really stupid. Please try to think before typing. Why? Fc United fans are against sky.
Kitchandro Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Why? Fc United fans are against sky. What on earth are you talking about?
Dan Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 yeah i get that and if i was choosing sky's games i'd probably have gone with ours and birmingham's too. my point was if you went back through every thread that's announcing a game of ours being on sky you would have probably 2-3 pages with 95% saying "F UCK SKY RUINING THE GAME C UNTS I HATE SKY I HOPE THEY ALL DIE AND NEVER SHOW US AGAIN THEY ARE RUINING MY LIFE". yet now we all want to be on sky? you can't have it both ways... It isn't at all having it both ways. They've moved our game which we got promoted to a shite Friday night fixture so it became a game that we didn't get promoted along with plenty of other moves - why were the games against Leeds moved? Reading away? Who gives a shit? You're mixing up wanting to be on $ky (very debatable) with us logically being on. The point I'm making is that we've often been on when in my opinion, we really shouldn't have been - yet ironically the one time we really should (down to Doncaster more than us) we're ignored at the expense of a play-off battle over relegation? Actual season definers?
Guest MattP Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 I thought they would go for the Brighton one and the Birmingham one, to ignore the relegation scrap completely over getting a play off place is ridiculous. That's exactly what I thought they would do. Go to the two games at each end that look the most competitive on paper and then cross over for the goals whilst following both ends of the table.
jimmeh Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 What on earth are you talking about? If you are that against sky then support a team where no money is involved.. it's pretty simple.

Captain... Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Agree with every word. They've been an absolute joke this season. Look at the amount of stupidly long journies they've made earlies as well. Burnley v Ipswich & Sunderland v Cardiff were given mid-days this weekend. I also think it's a joke how the entire league has to move to 12:15 on the final day to accomodate $ky. Yeovil v Middlesbrough is now a 12:15. I agree that every game should kick off at the same time but 12:15? Can they not just edit the contract to allow for one matchday where they can show 3pm? Oh no wait that would probably jeopardise Malaysian's interest in the '#EPL' It's nothing to do with them forrins that 3pm on Saturday slot is sacred, quite the opposite, it is to protect interest in local teams, if United and Liverpool were on TV at the time, people would be less inclined to watch their local club.
Tommy G Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 i missed the lot last season - I was watching Z$ky Africa
Kitchandro Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 If you are that against sky then support a team where no money is involved.. it's pretty simple. No, you are pretty simple.

Man Utd and Liverpool on TV at 3pm?
VinceNoir Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 I was kind of expecting it to be on due to Donny's situation and I was really looking forward to heading down to my local to stand proudly in my blue top among a bunch of Arsenal, United and Liverpool fans, while our boys lifted the trophy. Oh well, hopefully FoxesPlayer will have some decent footage of the celebrations
jimmeh Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 My word. You are just jumping on the fc United bandwagon of sky ruined football. It's pretty simple go and support a non league team if you are that against sky. Or just dont moan.

Or just dont moan. Yeh you're right. I fully support moving and therefore ruining a game we waited 10 years for. How stupid of me.
jimmeh Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 No, you are pretty simple. Yes of course! What a pointless reply.

Yep I get that although those saying it should've been on Sky this time wouldn't have inconvenienced anyone via a changing of a kick off time and will probably be at the game regardless. Personally I'd like to see a rule where there's a local blackout (let's say 100 miles of the game) if the match isn't sold out, or at least 90%. Works well in the US - encourages people to go despite it being on TV. Convinced that Sky take 5k off our gate when we are successful.

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 You have to remember that Sky pick games based on the support of the clubs as much as the significance of the match. If they had the option to show Yeovil vs Wigan in an important match or Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday in a fairly important match they'd go for the Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday one as both of those clubs have more supporters in the UK which would result in higher viewing figures. Whilst I agree that for the neutral this isn't great, Sky will always go for the figures over pleasing neutrals. If you look at the amount of games Leeds have televised in the first few weeks of the season when the table hasn't taken shape you'll see that they are on a ridiculous amount of times. Similarly that's also why we tend to be on quite a bit, for The Championship we have a large fan base.
Bert Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 I'm pretty sure they will go to games that have something riding on them if there is a game changing incident. Couldn't really care. I'll be at the game that's most important to me.
Babylon Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Z$ky... for Sky Africa. i missed the lot last season - I was watching Z$ky Africa If you are going to rip me off don't be so blatant.

Istilllovefilbert Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 [quote name=" This topic has been done to death, but lets face it they are here to say and you have to accept it. Next You made a good point about Sky paying clubs money, but you are a complete idiot if you think people should shut up and except things they don't like.
Corky Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 I find it a little odd that they are covering both play-off potential sides given that one will get at least two televised in the play-offs. It's a shame the BBC haven't got live games anymore.
