Buzzell Posted 13 May 2014 Posted 13 May 2014 Fantastic choice. You need at least 8 hours of shut eye.
DennisNedry Posted 13 May 2014 Posted 13 May 2014 I get about 7 hours a night and feel tired a lot, but I know people who function much better on less. I only really feel refreshed on weekends when I sleep to about 10am, I really have to drag myself out of bed on weekdays.
Danno Posted 13 May 2014 Posted 13 May 2014 Go to bed at 10 normally asleep at about 11.30. Wake up at 7 and still always tired, including at the weekend where ill wake up at about midday.
MPH Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 i normally work from 6;30 am till anywhere between 4-7 pm get in an hour later, end up in bed about 10, then wake up a good 4 - 5 times mainly because of nightmares or sleep paralysis(which are linked to the mares) and doze back off 15 mins after waking, the the alarm goes of at 5am. and its no change at the weekend still cant sleep solid, got to say its starting to do me in abit and im only 25 this cant be normal surly? According to the London sleep clinic, which i was referred to when i had my sleep paralysis, its often attributed to stress or major upheaval in your life. never had nightmares with mine....
ozleicester Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 The Modern Day poet Mr John Bon Jovi said it all...
deejdeej Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Finish work at 2:30 AM usually get to sleep around 5am. Wake up between 12-2pm. I get more of a lie-in on weekdays as I'll only get about 4 hours sleep at the weekends due to my little boy or missus waking me up. Afternoon shift sleep patterns are a joke!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 May 2014 Author Posted 14 May 2014 I don't know if its true but I did hear somewhere that the more rest you have the more tired you become. That kind of contradicts the link the I posted but it rings true to me. Crap sleep last night after waking up at 3am-4ish then having to be up at 515am
Soar Fox Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I work 3 shifts as a maintenance engineer so I'm always going sleep at different times. Only finished work an hour ago in bed for 6.30 and i'll wake up about 3pm. When I'm on mornings i'll go sleep around 11pm wake up at 5am. On afternoons bed about 1.30am wake up 10am. On nights bed around 7am Walt up at 3pm. Don't know how true it is but people say working nights can reduce your life span by 5 years.

Tincy Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 In bed for around 10pm up and 6:30am, I really really struggle to get up, but on weekends when I don't have work I'm usually up about 5:30-6am!!
kingcarr21 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 generally go bed around 11pm. Since i was little i always woke up at 6am. Now even at weekends if i wake up at 7am i consider that a lie in. Never been one to sleep loads. Normally get bout 6-8 hours sleep. Always thought on your day off why waste it sleeping.
pSinatra Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Asleep by midnight & up at 6.30. I sleep like a baby. I have worked nights before & it was something I could never get used to. I would sleep ok, but didn't get quality sleep & spent most of my time awake in a state of lethargy. I would need several herbal cigarettes before even attempting to get to sleep after a shift on nights & would go to bed about 10am. The thing I always noticed. It didn't matter what time of year it was I would always be bastard freezing in bed.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 When I'm night shift I get to bed about 8 and up before 12 usually. Get about 5 hous when day shift. I don't get anywhere near enough sleep but I get by.
Darkon84 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I try to get to sleep for around midnight, but it usually ends up being 1, in order to get up at 8, to work at 9, though almost every night I find myself waking up every hour or half hour some nights and really struggling to sleep consistently through the night. I literally can't remember the last time I had a full nights sleep, or one of those brilliant sleeps where you wake up at about 3, already feeling like you've slept forever, only to look at the clock thinking 'YES!, still shit loads more sleep to get!', then manage to sleep through the rest of the night like a log. *yawn*
Guest MattP Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Get no more than 6 hours a night. 1-7 or 2-8 usually.
Merging Cultures Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I used to do alright on 5 hours. Now, with one child or the other awake, I barely get a decent long run of sleep
