Kasper signs new deal - 4 years

Recommended Posts

He'll sign! think about it! He is unproven at a top level and not good enough to get into a top 6 six club.....and we are offering him a big deal!

Don't get me wrong I'd love him to stay but lets face facts - he Is easily replaceable.

Starting to get nervous about this now. Verbal agreement and actual signature are very different. It's been a week since Kasper agreed to stay but still no confirmation of the deal :/ Is he away or something?

Kasper has always struck me as a man of integrity and principle. If he's said he's going to sign, then he will sign.

Kasper's word is good enough for me.

With Nige/Nuge and Kasper still to sign on the dotted line, do we think Terry has lost his Mont Blanc?

He is, and in all likelihood he will sign by the end of next week :D

That also explains why Millan did not talk to him in jan.

They could not as he was not in his last 6 months.

When he was we looked like going up.

Ahem. Can I just butt in here and remind everyone about this...

His agent is Freddie Shepherd's (of telling a fake sheikh that Newcastle girls are "dogs" whilst sat in a brothel fame) son and they are in partnership with Paul Stretford, who is notoriously a nasty piece of work. If they even sniff a better chance of money in the time before he signs on the dotted line he'll be off in a shot.

No he won't, he will stay at Leicester, he has no intention of leaving if the deal is a good one

We'll see then wont we.

All I'm saying, is that if the deal was agreed in principle over 10 days ago, then why hasn't it been signed already if it's only a formality?

Let's not get rose-tinted, he's had previous with this sort of behaviour and there are certainly question marks about his mentality and that of his (rather dodgy) agent pals.

Because he's been away with Denmark on international duty? Schmeichel has always said he's happy to wait for contract negotiations and he may well want to finalise it all after he has returned from international duty next week.

You can't really say he's had 'previous' with this sort of stuff, whilst he was at Notts County he agreed to forgo all of his future wages at Notts County from April to the point of release after the plug was pulled by Sven & Co.

When was this then.

He was not getting first team football at man city.

Notts county he was sold a lie.

Leeds he did not want to leave.

But with comments like your's from a supposed fan he may change his mind and do one.

Personally with some of our fans comments about players in the best team we have had for years.

And the most dominant team we have had in any league I am suprised any want to stay.

DD and Vardy at the start of the season Nuge for most of it Kasper for not being here to sign his contract Konch most of the season.

Why would they stay.

You ever thought the owners might want all the new guys Nige Kasper and anyone else that has agreed to stay to all sign on the same day.

One huge press release to make a statement of our intent back home.

I really want him to stay. I want for nothing more, but I'm going to play devil's advocate here because we all know how fun it is.

Fair enough, he let the wages go, but then he'd 'ambitiously' moved down to League 2 for a £15,000 a week contract.

Released by the end of April, he'd already signed for Leeds by end of May. Was the move done before he'd even been released? That's a reason for him to give up the wages gladly and therefore Notts County, however badly run they were before, are now post-Munto Finance, penniless and facing a winding up order - yet receive nothing for the player.

Ken Bates, although a buffoon, would never let a player run down his contract and leave for free when he could sell. Ergo, the rumours that he turned down Leed's contract offer before being sold may have some truth and certainly Kasper was in a situation to run his contract down. It's Simon Grayson's word against Kasper's on that one - â€œWe spoke to Kasper’s agent at the end of the season about a contract extension and it was apparent that it was going to be difficult to agree a deal." (http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-whites-news/schmeichel-hits-back-as-leeds-united-accept-leicester-city-bid-updated-1-3498131).

Now, he'll probably sign this week, but with modern football who can we really trust? I'm certainly not going to take a player at face value saying he's staying when he hasn't signed a piece of paper that officially confirms it. Cynical I may be, but I'm definitely not stupid

Where there's muck there's brass. With every free transfer comes a chance of increased wages and signing-on fees, and that's where 10%'ers like Shepherd and Stretford are in their element.

They do have computers and fax machines in Denmark don't they....

Ha Ha Ha!

If that's all it takes then surely it's good riddance.

He has been away on international duty and is on holiday now, everything will be fine.

The difference previously was that he took the money at Notts County to secure himself financially and he wasn't particularly happy at Leeds, unlike here where he feels happy and wanted.

I've said on numerous occasions that I hoped Kasper would sign. He did that interview with the Danish newspaper. He made it very clear that all is well and he will sign once he returns from international duty.

In Kasper we trust.  :schmike:

when was this deal "close"?

It was 'close' a couple of weeks ago when initial talks were held and a deal agreed in principle, it will be finalised when everyone has had the opportunity to sit down and sort the finer details, these things can and do take time.

Posted

Jacob Blyth and James Pearson signed new deals earlier today. Hopefully that means there are some contract talks and signings on happening over the next few days and the likes of Kasper and Nuge do sign on soon.

Nice bit of nepotism regarding James Pearson I see.

Hopefully not. Being favoured as a 'Daddy's boy' type figure and coasting through could only make slightly unpopular within the u/21s. I'm sure he's a decent prospect at the minimum. Regardless he must get some real banter for being NP's lad.

Why have pretty much all your posts been in this thread reassuring yourself and others that he will sign?

Every time I get on foxestalk I read he us close to signing. If he gets any closer to this contract he'll be standing on top of it!
