MikeyT Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Brilliant news. Very pleased. You know it made sense Kasper
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 This just made my day. Excellent news and great to hear a pitch leader is committing to the club on a long-term basis. Now, David Nugent please come forward...
iamafox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Had no qualms that Kasper was going to sign whatsoever. Took longer than I wanted but finally!
pazzerfox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 BBC are stating that he has played 156 games for us. In three seasons!!! Can that be right?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 BBC are stating that he has played 156 games for us. In three seasons!!! Can that be right? With cup games it sounds right... giving that we have done alright in the cup competitions and you play 46 leagues games a season in the championship...
Narborough_fox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 BBC are stating that he has played 156 games for us. In three seasons!!! Can that be right? I don't think he's not missed a single league game for us so that's already 138 games with a further 2 play-off games. Highly likely that's he's played 16 cup games for us.
fazzyfox Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Conrads very best Wenger impression on the phone obviously wasn't believable enough.

But he got sent off at Forest in 2011/12 season so wouldn't he have got a suspension?

But he got sent off at Forest in 2011/12 season so wouldn't he have got a suspension? 2 yellows so only a one game ban and that game was in august so at a guess we played weale or conrad in the next game which was a carling cup game. dunno tho. not missing a league game since he signed is decent though. glad he's signed on again.
Mark_from_USA Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Great news, as we will need his heroics when the inevitable barrage comes our way... @USAFoxes
RizLCFC Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 If reports are true and he's the highest paid player ever, the club will be daft to put in a RRC any lower than £5m. If that's the case then £5 million is pretty decent.
Soar Fox Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 So what do we reckon he's on a week £50k?? Also will he have been given a signing on fee when he signed the new contract with us.
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 So what do we reckon he's on a week £50k?? Also will he have been given a signing on fee when he signed the new contract with us. I reckon he's on two quid a week and a bag of pork scratchings as a clean sheet bonus. Seriously, I'd assume he's just become City's best ever paid player?

Babylon Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 the club will be daft to put in a RRC any lower than £5m. And Kaspers agent would be mad to accept a contract with that size of buy out clause. Power was all with Kasper on this one.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 If he sees out that contract he'll be up there with Wallington.
shen Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 And Kaspers agent would be mad to accept a contract with that size of buy out clause. Power was all with Kasper on this one. £5m for a keeper entering his prime having been named in the PFA Championship TOTY and establishing himself as first-choice for the national team seems quite cheap to me. Anything below £3m would be an outright steal surely.

Anything below £3m would be an outright steal surely. I'm not talking about his worth, I'm talking about clauses in a contract. He and his agent were in the driving seat and it suits them more to have as low a buyout clause as possible. I presume we are also asking for clauses such as big drops in wages should we get relegated, the flip side of that is agents often only accept them with the proviso of a low buyout clause to pretty much guarantee a move away.

Exactly. We were probably faced with an option of accepting him signing a 4-year deal which allowed him to walk away for virtually nothing if we got relegated or having him walk away for nothing now. So if we were to get relegated we won't lose anything that we wouldn't have already done so with him being able to leave for free now. The upside is that, whilst we're in the Premier League, we get to keep him. We certainly won't be getting anything like £3-5million for him if we are relegated. We might get something around that figure if he has a clause in saying a bid of a certain amount has to be accepted from any club playing European football (which I wouldn't be surprised if he did have given some of the clubs that have been sniffing around him this summer and the level Kasper no doubt thinks he can reach).
cc_star Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Pleased to get this one out the way, as Pearson himself pointed out - Kasper would have had options, so to chose us over those options shows he has some faith in the direction we're going.
lgfualol Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Anyone see the lcfc facebook page? I think King Power are paying for people to like their posts. Or are we actually big in thailand?
