Kasper Schmeichel his signature on a new contract has put

National goalkeeper continues in Leicester. The parties in recent weeks intense negotiations on a new agreement have had.

Confirmed - Yoda is Danish. Always wondered.

And great news, securing Kasper. One huge chunk of the puzzle sorted for next season. Can't wait.

Money saved on finding and securing a top keeper for next season

Points gained thanks to his future heroics

Money gained when a big club comes in to buy him for £££

Top stuff

Even if it is £40k a week (probably nearer 30), we've saved a fair few million in transfer fees and probably £25k a week in wages getting another goalkeeper in, and we can now sign Hamer as back-up. If Kasper has a great season we are in a strong position to either keep or sell on for a decent fee.

How much are Marshall or Forster on a week?

Who knows?

I can bet Kasper has earnt himself a nice signing on fee from this.

He's showing off basically. That tweet is an attempt to show how wonderfully respectful he is to try and earn a bit of kudos amongst his followers.

This, and what did he get for it? A load of Liverpool fans having a pop at Leicester.

He needs to grow up and pretty quickly too. I know he's only a kid but it's embarrassing.

No reply when I tried to contact him either. Very disappointing.

Personally I think it's a hell of a lot of money to pay out for Kasper and I certainly expect him to be among the best in the division if he on a couple of million a year in wages.

I certainly trust Niges judgement though on anything now.

I'm just waiting for an explosion of new contracts to be handed out to everyone in one day. Which day... I have no clue.

Kasper Schmeichel: Leicester goalkeeper 'agrees' contract

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has agreed a new contract and is expected to sign a deal this week.

The 27-year-old Denmark international began talks with the Championship champions towards the end of the season and said he wanted to play a part in their return to the Premier League.

The former Manchester City, Notts County and Leeds United man has been at Leicester since 2011.

He was ever present in the league, conceding 43 goals in 46 matches.

Personally speaking I think the mercury & BBC are just reporting it without having heard anything.

I was thinking that with the BBC article, all they've done is state what Sky Sport were reporting a couple of days ago to look like they've managed to get the news before he's actually signed the contract if, and when, he does. There's nothing in that article which is new and they've not even stated the likely length of the contract.

At least the mercury have stated that they believe the reported £40,000 a-week is wide of the mark.

I don't believe these bullshit news stories what type of proof is that I won't be satisfied until I see the contact with my own eyes signed with the blood of a sacred goat

Kasper has been speaking to Danish media. I'm not going to translate it like a yoda robot, so here are the main points:

"Negotiations are ongoing. Hopefully we can make it public shortly."

"There have been other offers, I won't deny that. But Leicester is where I want to be"

"I have a great relationship with the fans and everyone who works at the club"

"It's a club that means a lot to me. They believed in me when I needed a club to believe in me and I'm really grateful for that"

"I've played here for three years and it's a fantastic club. Very well-structured and well-organised. We have fantastic owners and a great manager. I've been happy here since my first day."

If that has been translated in to words he actually wanted them to mean, then there's no doubt in my mind that all has been agreed and that's not changed from when the 'verbal agreement' was announced.

Just give it time, people. Like Rob Dorsett said, it'll be announced 'middle of this week'. So that heads to Wednesday(ish). Patience :).
