Babylon Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 "Delighted to commit my future to Leicester city in the Premier league" But not in any other league
Big_Nige Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 It's a smart deal. Can demand decent money if the unthinkable happens and we go down, and already have a more than capable back-up in Hamer waiting in the wings. Very sensible.
artursteppe Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Couple of interesting quotes from Kasper lately 'exciting times ahead' and 'can't wait to welcome our new signings'. Does he mean Hamer, Albrighton, Barmby and Upson or perhaps others he may know about? ( Not that there is anything wrong with the first four in the context of things ).
Tom's Pasta Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I got a new job today. Yet I'm actually happier about Kasper signing a new deal than getting the job. Backwards priorities?
Bert Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Great news. Sends out a real statement. With Kasper and Hamer we have two very accomplished keepers ready for next season. Good business.Spot on
Soar Fox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Absolutely delighted he's signed a new contract. To be honest I expected him to leave this summer even though we got promotion. If we do get relegated least we'll be able to command decent money for him.
RizLCFC Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Absolutely delighted he's signed a new contract. To be honest I expected him to leave this summer even though we got promotion. If we do get relegated least we'll be able to command decent money for him. Not if he has a low relegation release clause.
Yuki! Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 This suddenly makes this tweet he did yesterday very encouraging: @kschmeichel1: Exciting times ahead...
gibs0n Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 How did you come to that conclusion?! Drinky's not a full international, not played Premier League football and hasn't been linked to several Champions League clubs. Drinky has had 1 excellent season in the championship whereas Kasper has had 4 seasons of being one of the best in the league. Plus he's pretty much guaranteed to start every match and even though Drinkwater will probably start the season; a few bad games and he could be out of the team. Exactly!
Cockney Fox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 AC Milan to sign Conrad Logan. You heard it here first.
foxfanazer Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Over the moon with this! Can't wait for the new season now!
Tommythefox06 Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 AC Milan to sign Conrad Logan. You heard it here first. They have been sniffing around but he is waiting to hear back from Peterborough first as they are his preferred option
Thracian Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I'm certain Kasper will be aware of other impending signings and have considerable insight into the ambition of the club. His signing is a major step in confirming that ambition to prospecitve signings but, apart from his goalkeeping, the other thing you get with Kasper is an entirely positive and professional attitude - his desire is written in his face and body language every time he takes the field and is a priceless asset. Within reason I don't give a toss what his wages are - to simply compete at Premiership level you have to pay the going rate and to start excelling at that level there are going to be times when you have to pay the going rate plus..... Some signings will inevitably cost more than others but the important thing is that we remain within budget and get good value right along the line. With Kasper, the value seems as guaranteed as anything can possibly be in football and I'm absolutely delighted.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Superb news. A real statement of intent both by the club and the player.
Bert Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Not if he has a low relegation release clause. If reports are true and he's the highest paid player ever, the club will be daft to put in a RRC any lower than £5m.
Happy Fox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Kasper wouldn't of signed if we weren't ambitious we will be bringing one or two quality players, WYS.
LanguedocFox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I love this bit of straw-clutching from a Cov fans blog: http://www.coventrycity-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/former_city_loanee_signs_leicester_deal_834141/index.shtml. Former City loanee? Brilliant. Great news about Kasper. Now for Nigel. Please!
