20 years ago today

One of the best football days of my life our lot (of limited ability) beating Derby's multi-million pound 'dreamteam'.

Gary Coatsworth kicking Tommy Johnson into the air, John Harkes' miss & Steve Walsh's goal hilarious in equal measure.

20 years? WTF????

The funniest moment was the Paul Williams' air header on the goal line for Walshy's first.

Today?

Is that to the day/date?

Cuz once upon a time the play-off final was a bank holiday monday. Tradition is being ruined.

Cracking day...Will always remember the fat oldbloke in string vest and a hanky tied on his head a few rows in front and him starting  the cheering off after we went 1 down..  Happy days

Brilliant article in that mag talking to the whole team (except for Mark Blake who has vanished).

Jimmy Willis is a cabbie in Liverpool, Coatsworth works in a Sunderland car plant.

Great bit about Costsworth and Tonny Johnson talking about them in the tunnel before the game. Where Johnson tried to talk to him about playing at Wembley and it being great, Gary just leant down going face to face and told him to **** off.

Ok had a few to drink n cant think.

Who was the muppet striker that left us that season for the sheep thinking he had a better chance of going up.

Soooooooooooooo sweet watching him go down the tunnel just to my right lol lol lol lol

Kitson? But he left 2 seasons before.

I'm sure you know this already, but if you own a copy of Definitely Maybe you can see Liam reading a newspaper from the day City won that game. You can see Walsh on the back page.

Was it really 2 seasons?

But was still great as he trooped off.

Just soooo glad they lost today.

Wow I can't believe that was 20 years ago! Remember it so clearly, I was in tears when Derby scored first thinking we were gonna lose for the 3rd final in a row. I remember Walshy had only just got back from a serious injury to play in that game, what a legend! What was the starting lineup that day?
