Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Was around 3 months ago, I told the guy I'm surprised he hasn't got a house at those prices. I guess he was just happy to have enough to buy an umbrella to stop people peeing on him.
Unabomber Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Porn subscriptions, not that I invest in any but why bother when most of it is on free sites anyway?

Unabomber Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Dominoes Pizza without any offers? Brb shipping £17 on a pizza.
Nalis Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Cinema. Costs the best part of a tenner at its cheapest nowadays. Used to be about £4 a few years back. Try 15 quid in London! If you had a family, the cost of a pre-meal, popcorn and drinks at the cinema, car parking, etc, you're talking triple figures..to watch one bloody film! Birthday cards or any occasion cards for that matter. 3 ****ing quid for a piece of cardboard, an envelope and a shit joke/message...
SystonFox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 A club in Barcelona my mate bought a JD and coke for 12 Euros. The rest of us just decided to go for the cheaper 330 ml bottle of Corona for 8 Euros instead. Same as what I paid when I went in April 2013. Unsure of the club name but it was underground! Went up to the bar offering my two pals I was with to get the first round in this place. 3 x JD and come came to€36. Felt like ID been bum excavated
Guest Kopfkino Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 0844 numbers and the like. bullshit. buses. Get WEQ4U from the app store, converts a lot of them so it just comes out of your minutes
potter3 Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 To be fair, the blade is 90% of the razor, the rest of it is basically a stick. So it's not surprising they cost just as much as the whole thing.
Alf Bentley Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 buses. This, a million times over. From where I live, a single bus ticket to or from town now costs £2. By taxi, the same journey costs about £5. I'd love to see some economic analysis of that. I mean, I know that the initial investment in a bus is greater. I expect maintenance costs more. I know that busy urban routes have to subsidise less busy rural routes. Even so, if that bus carries 30 passengers per journey, it makes £60 in tickets sales per journey multiple times per day....whereas the taxi only makes £5 for the same journey. Any suggestions?
ScouseFox Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 i costs £2.20 for anyone over 16 to get on the bus in liverpool.
Soar Fox Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Even if a bus journey cost 10 pence you still wouldn't get me on one. Vile things and would much rather pay extra and use a cab.
ScouseFox Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 if you've got the money or there's 3 or 4 of you then yeah use a cab, but if i cabbed too and from work on a short shift i may as well hand in my notice and collect dole because it'd be more profitable .

I don't think buses are that bad value really. Where I live a single bus journey into Leicester is £2.30 whilst a taxi would be about a tenner minimum. Season tickets are where you get your value when it comes to bus travel. A modern new double decker bus costs about £200k, chuck in fuel, maintenance, driver costs, is a couple of quid really that bad value?. I guess the multinationals like First or Arriva get their fuel, buses, spares cheaper due to bulk buying, No idea of the economics of it but i'd rather catch a bus over a taxi anyday. I often walk the 3 miles from my house to the city centre rather than getting a cab (that maybe down to the fact that i'm tight ). My only gripe about Leicester buses is the service goes to sh*t after about 7.30pm.

Gee, it must be great to be so stinking rich that you don't have to bother about the cost of a service! Was it you that said you spent £300 on a night out or was that one of the other young FT millionnaires?! I don't think buses are that bad value really. Oadby is a bit further out from us, probably about £2.50 by bus, I'd guess, and I'm sure that I got a cab from there to town for £7.00 (3-mile journey). I'm sure season tickets are better value, but I work from home so don't have any use for one - just go to town occasionally of an evening or weekend. I often walk myself, but sometimes I'm a bit knackered and £2 for a 1.5-mile ride with dozens of others seems a piss-take. Compared to some cities, the evening service isn't too bad, though - at least there are buses until 11.30 or so, even if they're not very frequent.

Was it you that said you spent £300 on a night out or was that one of the other young FT millionnaires?! The places where I would go on a bus it would only cost an extra £5/8 in taxi. In a taxi it will pick me up from my house, drop me right outside where I want to go and I won't have to share the journey with teenagers who sit at the back of the bus smoking or playing music through their phones. I would have spent close to £300 on a night out before, probably a bit more depending where I am but I certainly wouldn't have wrote it on here before now.

I buy Wilkinson Sword 2 blade disposables. A pack of 20 is about £6 & will easily last me a year. Why anyone would pay for or even need a 4 blade razor - I've no idea?

On the rare occasion I get a cab its always cost me at least £10 from St Margarets to Anstey. Thats the meter price so assume i'm not being ripped off . I'm used to a London bus service so 1 bus every 45 mins after 7.30pm just doesn't cut the mustard for me.

pSinatra Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 I buy Superdrug own brand triple blade ones and their blunt after a couple of shaves. May have to check out these Wilkinson Sword blades I wouldn't exactly put me in the 'hairy back' bracket & fook shaving every day. I probably shave 3/4 times a week & each razor will last a couple of weeks. I got a free sample of one those Mach razors & they are a closer shave.....but exactly how close does it need to be? It seems razors can now be considered a fashion item That's considerable beer money being wasted when only the missus is ever going to be able to tell the difference.
pSinatra Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Women's hairdressers When I get a haircut you can tell. When the missus has her hair done, it costs 5 times as much & I get a bollocking for not noticing. It would take a braver man than me to tell her that the fooking expensive anti-ageing cream is a complete rip-off as well
