Captain... Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I don't go often enough to think about all that. Just went the other day on a whim for the first time in about 2 and a half years and it had gone up quite a bit. My tongue was in my cheek when I called you a div, but if people packed out the cinemas on the cheap days and never went on the full price days, then they might actually realise that the prices are too high, but even on cheap night it is virtually empty. I would be amazed if cinema chains aren't struggling, as they respond to cheaper alternatives and piracy by putting their prices up.
Danno Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Public transport, costs me £8 to get to school and back, which is a 20 minute journey at the most. Absolute joke.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Boxer shorts. Scandalous! This! Why the f*** do they cost so much, and why do people pay?! I'll happily admit to wearing Primark and Calvin Classics, personally I think paying £10+ for one pair of pants is… basically having your pants pulled down. Otherwise - once paid 12 Euros for a vodka coke in a terrible club in Dublin. We went in there thinking it would be one of the cheaper places to drink, luckily for me I was puking all night so didn't have much time for drinking whilst out that evening. Also, "line rental". Selling "20p per month broadband" doesn't really mean much when you lump on an extra £30. I'll also vouch for women's haircuts. Missus pays £120 for a cut and colour. £120. Anything from motorway services and airports. And suckers that pay more than £2 for an HDMI lead.
Guest Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Went out in Paris with 4 mates about six years ago... "I'll get the first round lads... five rum and cokes please barman... SIXTY EUROS?!... Errr, you boys ok to chip in for this?!" Think I only had about 50 Euros on me for the whole night! Prices are expensive in France generally even in small towns. The change from the franc to the euro was a disaster for the paying Customer. pre-2000 prices on food have rocketed by 20 to 25 times the price!
Houdini Logic Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 The big issue. 3 quid and it's absolutely crap. Is it really £3?! If so it appears I've been tighter for longer than first thought
Tommy G Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 bottle of water and a beer in Venice cost me 22 euros, it was on the water front. I'm just glad my mrs didnt opt for an alcoholic drink
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Clock repair at Hinds.--£320 (Not chiming) It only took thirteen weeks. Went to put it up and holy Moses, one weight was damaged, so that it wouldn't hang. The manager was really good, though. He took it back and promised us it would be done by the end of the week. Oh, and that was three weeks ago! There is blood appearing on the horizon, and it isn't mine.
filbertway Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 The inevitable add ons when buying a ticket of any description. Call it an admin fee, arrangment fee, postage fee (when collecting!?!), handling fee, venue fee, booking fee or whatever else they can get away with. Surely that's how they pay their staff/make profit?
Guest MattP Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Is it really £3?! If so it appears I've been tighter for longer than first thought Was around 3 months ago, I told the guy I'm surprised he hasn't got a house at those prices.
Stadt Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Apple chargers and leads, there's loads on eBay but they're usually dreadful.
Soar Fox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Travel agents and airlines. Just paid over two and half grand for 2 weeks abroad and then Thomas Cook want to charge you an extra £36 to guarantee your seats next to each other. Also WH Smiths in airports charging £1.75 for a packet of walkers crisps.

leicsmac Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Apple products in general, in terms of what you have to pay for it. Good solid software and hardware, but products of equal or sometimes better quality are available for much, much cheaper.

Unabomber Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 razor blades like mach 3 hence my thread about old school shaving which everyone has ignored!!! Definitely this, 3 blades cost about as much as the initial set. Every time I try and make the blades last but I get up covered in shaving cuts on my balls.
MooseBreath Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 King of shaves shit is what you want brothers. Cheap but still good. Or just shave with a machete like a real man.
