Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Algerian press is saying that Mahrez won't be starting. As I predicted after the Belgium match, he'll be dropped for Djabou to freshen things up. Pity because if we wanted to see Mahrez's qualities, this was the game. He was basically playing like a full back against Belgium. I'm (for obvious reasons) hoping we take the lead and then South Korea will have to take more risks. If we go into the last 30 minutes with that sort of game, Mahrez would be the perfect substitution, so I'm still hopeful that we'll see him on at some point in the game. Didn't you say that Djabou was pretty tasty? Sign him up Nige.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 If Riyad plays 2-0 Algies If Riyad doesn't play 0-3 dogeaters
kingfox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Couldn't give a hoot if he starts for Algeria or not, all I'm bothered about is his performances for Leicester next season.
Algeriafan Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Didn't you say that Djabou was pretty tasty? Sign him up Nige. The guy is a real talent in my opinion. How he has spent all his career playing in the Algerian league and just recently Tunisian league I'll never understand. If he moved to Europe early on in his career I think he could have done something special. Low centre of gravity, good dribbler of the ball and good end product. Hope we see him and Brahimi unleashed today. Mahrez for me has a bit more about him. If you were just comparing technical ability, I think Djabou edges it. Mahrez is quicker, better at tracking back, more direct and probably has better end product. Probably all things that Djabou could have too if he moved to Europe.
ScouseFox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 i'm upset riyad isn't playing but hope algeria win anyway. just that their left winger is shit.
Mark_w Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 8 Minutes without one of the starting Algerian wingers getting injured, disappointed.
StanSP Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Djabou's actually done alright to be fair. Still think we'll see Mahrez but not for a while. Algeria deserve to be ahead.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Dropping him is a disgrace. The Algerian's looked very short of technical skill and flair and they refused to give him the ball when he was making good runs. serious question, have you decided to start trolling for a month? And the Algerians look well on top without him tbf
Jimothy Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Djabou's actually done alright to be fair. Still think we'll see Mahrez but not for a while. Algeria deserve to be ahead. He's done ok. Couple of times his movements not been great though, he's not looked for space and subsequently lost the ball when receiving the pass.
wakeyfox01 Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Riyad would thrive the way they're playing at the moment. If they go 3 up he's probably got more chance of getting a run out as the pressures off.
