Leicesterpool Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Forgot this was one been watching Apollo 13, looks like I missed a cracker.
broughtonblue Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 I've not seen it. Check outside your window, is someone sat pointing a sniper into the room?Bloody hell, hope it's not the local branch of Isis!
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Kitchboxer Put me mortgage on him not returning to this thread "lack technical ability" ok mate.
The Doctor Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Bloody hell, hope it's not the local branch of Isis! Pah, how would she be able to operate a sniper? She's got wings instead of arms and hands.
The Doctor Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Riyad who? Mahrez - you know, the guy Messi wishes he could be as good as.
RowlattsFox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Who does the left back play for? Get him in. Good Algeria side this, not sure how much they've been helped by diabolical Korea defence. Usually enjoy watching the Asian sides at worlds cups but they've been poor this time round.
ealingfox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Sadly that's probably the end of Mahrez's tournament unless there are injuries. Victim of bad luck really.
StanSP Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Great game I thought, even without Mahrez. Can you imagine the uproar in here if Mahrez came on and scored ?
Kitchandro Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Kitchboxer Put me mortgage on him not returning to this thread "lack technical ability" ok mate. Ooh unlucky. Better sort that mortgage issue out mate. Were they technically poor in the first game or was I just imagining them not able to pass to team mates and hang on to the ball for any length of time? BTW is it a forum rule that I need to check every thread I've commented on?
Bert Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Guessing the Algerian coach is still a "disgrace" for leaving Riyad out. Thought our fans were better than to have such irritating player fandom, developing a sudden expert knowledge on a team 99.9% of fans knew nothing of before Mahrez joined. I think you're the disgrace how dare you insinuate that about people

BTW is it a forum rule that I need to check every thread I've commented on? it was only bate for you to come back after saying something stupid for once, which was duly taken. It might amaze you, but watching them once, against everyone's dark horse for the tournament, doesn't put you in a position to declare their technically poor, as tonight proved. They played very well in the first game for large parts, Mahrez was struggled as much as anyone else possibly more so. To declare leaving him out a disgrace is something only an absloute moron would do as they have good forward thinking players, once again, as tonight proved, in both regards to yourself and their squad. Erm no, the timing of some of your vanishing acts are quite funny though. Especially over the last month, wtf have you started smoking.
ScouseFox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Guessing the Algerian coach is still a "disgrace" for leaving Riyad out. too bloody right man
leicsmac Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Most of my Korean buddies were actually pretty pessimistic about this WC, and I couldn't really see why. Now I do. Shite performance from them, really. As Finn said, I'm surprised they played that poorly.
Dan Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Can't really knock the decision to not play him but I'm pretty certain in saying they'd have definitely still won even if he'd played. South Korea were the ideal opponents for him as they're poor defensively. Algeria though are in with a genuine chance of progression here, and good luck to them in doing so.
Dan Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 That was just perfect and will never ever get old. Rustling gorilla til I die.
Guest MattP Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 **** it hadn't occurred to me we'll lose him for 6 weeks because of the African nations next year.
Guest MattP Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Not surprised he was dropped mind, was unpopular but I thought he had a very average game against Belgium.
ScouseFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Not surprised he was dropped mind, was unpopular but I thought he had a very average game against Belgium. I'm not shocked he was dropped and I am assuming (and last nights result kinda proves) that the algerian national coach knows more about algerian football than I do but I don't think he was bad vs Belgium. He did his job, defended and covered for his team whilst always looking composed and stayed wide to continually be an outlet for the team. Think it's more than just a coincidence that he came off and algeria couldn't get out and eventually conceded because nobody was tracking back on his side. Proved a right decision all in all though, riyad bias aside.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Not surprised he was dropped mind, was unpopular but I thought he had a very average game against Belgium. No Matt, that is not on ALGERIA ARE A DISGRACE!
lcfcsnow Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 I couldn't understand at the time why Slimani and Brahimi didn't start their first game, maybe they'd have been through already if they had.
TomTom8 Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 I think Mahrez might start again against Russia. Coach mentioned that Djabou isn'T capable of playing 90 minutes and that there may be some changes in the lineup.
kingcarr21 Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Did anybody else start celebrating loads when Algeria scored? Even with Mahrez not on the pitch im celebrating them scoring like its England scoring
