Beliall Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Great game. Usa should still be happy. Practically through now
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Very fortunate goal that, not like they will qualify they need a 5 goal turn around
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Really? they have deserved what has happened... nothing upfront and Ronaldo looks as though he doesn't care unless he scores yeah definitely night night everyone.
z-layrex Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Hahshahahaha!!!! The Americans would be celebrating like they won the final of Portugal hadn't equalised.
foxfanazer Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Haha Portugal are woeful. Glad they're as good as out
Jordan Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Hahshahahaha!!!! The Americans would be celebrating like they won the final of Portugal hadn't equalised. Or rather celebrating like they had advanced to the second round, which is far too much to ask for some of the other teams in this tournament.
Stadt Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Hopefully this will put an end to the "I believe we will win" shit, they're so bad at making chants
foxes_rule1978 Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Injuries, that second U.S goal was spwany as anything as well. As I said they've not performed but they've had 3, possibly even four players off injured in 2 games, and a bad break of the ball has cost them a point that may have given them a chance of qualification, that's without mentioning Pepe's moment of madness. You could say with injuries yes, but regardless they have been poor... 2 down already before Pepe got rightly sent off, and they scored a fortunate goal in the first five minutes themselves in this game. Bad luck has had nothing to do with it, just poor defending, discipline and attacking play
ScouseFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Shame portugal will still probably go out when the Germans and USA play out a draw.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Shame portugal will still probably go out when the Germans and USA play out a draw. Portugal need a five goal turnaround... I can't see them beating Ghana by 5 or more goals, even if the USA lose by 3, I can't see Portugal doing enough
Mikey Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Ronaldo obviously so far from being fit it hurts to watch him trying to play still. Can tell by the way he runs and everything. Pretty much out now as well - next time he'll be 33. Even the way he looks after his body he'll surely be slowing down by then (if he even recovers from this injury properly). Well done to the US.

I can't see them beating Ghana by 5 or more goals, even if the USA lose by 3, I can't see Portugal doing enoughTo be honest, I'm not even sure I see Portugal beating Ghana.Edit: we've seen what happens to teams after they play in Manaus. Portugal will be gassed, Ronaldo especially so. If Germany want to play nice on Thursday, they are more than welcome to.

I can't see them beating Ghana by 5 or more goals, even if the USA lose by 3, I can't see Portugal doing enough If Germany turn it on they could do to USA what they did to portugal quite comfortably, Portugal win by a couple and they're through. Can't see it happening though, I'd imagine Germany and USA both happy to draw and both stay 1st and 2nd, and if not the turn around is a lot and Ronaldo isn't fit so it's probably game over. Like I said, shame.

You could see when he tried to plant his left leg for a free kick in the first half he didn't trust it so to speak, just can't miss a World Cup can you. Once every four years and like you say 33 next time so won't be at his peak. Best season of his career was all built up for him to do bits at this tournament but even in the CL final he wasn't 100% and he clearly isn't now.
ScouseFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Ronaldo fanboys getting mad. I follow a few on twitter (and would be considered one by some on here) and nobody I can see is getting mad. Just disappointed that we can't see one of the best players ever turn it on at a World Cup because he's not fully fit and his team is below par. Don't see what's wrong with that, surely even those who aren't "fan boys" would understand the World Cup is all about big players doing big things and when one doesn't live up to what everyone knows he can do it's disappointing.
