Strokes Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Can't believe Italy have gone so early. I know ourselves and Spain have gone as well, but Italy are such a powerhouse with four World Cups. Always expect them around the quater finals, minimum.They went out in the groups last time round.

It had everything you'd want from Suarez. 1) Makes way into penalty area. 2) Bites (yes, BITES) opponent. 3) Falls over clutching face. Uruguay have been incredibly fortunate. Godin and Suarez both should have been sent off in the last couple of games and Godin, who should have been suspended, scores the winner with his back. You can say what you like about England's performances, but the above surely demonstrates the importance of luck in a 3 game mini tournament like a World Cup group stage.

If they got through today I would have placed a few pennies on a final appearance.
