The Ultras Thread

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of people respect Ultras and the atmosphere they help create etc

But this is an example of the dark and shit side of some Italian Ultras. Frankly this is disgusting, and just highlights how much of a mess Italian football is.

Edit; Been pointed out this comes across as painting all Ultras as being the same as those highlighted in the article. Obviously that isn't the case with many just simply supporting their team and creating a great atmosphere.

Italian ultras have deep rooted connections to organised crime and there's multiple groups at each club. Tarring them all with the same brush isn't fair - Juve have some proper dodgy groups though as one was raided a few months back and somehow the c unts had got hold of a surface-to-air missile.

Wasn't intending to suggest all Ultras were the same as those mentioned, poor wording on my part, so have edited my post.

But seriously, how do they get their hands on a surface to air missile?

Was something to do with some dodgy deal with Neo Nazis.

One of the leaders of Lazio’s ultras was murdered this year - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2019/aug/10/death-of-diabolik-fabrizio-piscitelli-lazio-football-ultra - the circumstances are symbolic of it all really.

Interestingly Italy’s ultras politically used to be split 50/50 by left and right but now there’s a handful of left wing ultra groups and hundreds of right wing.

From that same article;-

'Italian football has seen a spate of incidents of racism already this season with Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku abused on multiple occasions.

The Belgian faced monkey noises while taking a penalty away against Cagliari and was the subject of a racist remark from a television pundit over the weekend who claimed the only way to stop him is 'if you have ten bananas for him to eat.'

And we thought our pundits were bad thats unbelievable.

And the Italian FA did nothing, no wonder racism is so rife in Italy.

Bad Gones, one of the main groups of Lyon, expressed their frustration towards a 1.30pm kick-off against Nantes that was aimed to promoting French football in Asia, and especially in China. The French Football Federation (LFP) gave this match an early kick-off to attract more Chinese fans live on Chinese TV.

When players entered the pitch there was a huge card display showing the Tibetan flag, and many fans had Tibetan flags hanging in front of the ultras sector.

Tibet is governed as an autonomous region in Chine, with the Tibetan government in exile. It's been an international conflict for a long time and Beijing reacts angrily to any suggestions that the Himalayan territory should be independent.

Brigade Loire, the away fans, seemed to enjoy their away trip with barbecue outside the stadium before kick-off.

The distance from Nantes to Lyon is 685 km!

I'd expect some actions from Ultras Bochum tonight. They aren't at their strongest at the moment but their first game back after the month long winter break is away at their fierce rivals Arminia Bielefeld. They have previously pulled big pyro displays there.

Actions mainly against the Tuesday evening kick off time. Banner translates as roughly:

"We see black at your kick off times".

Bochum lost 2-0.
