MC Prussian Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Yeah I totally understand the buzz it would give and maybe the marketing/revenue we could get having a household name at the club. But would we only be signing this player as a marketing strategy? I think most players would come to a club nowadays depending on the money they offered rather than the players already there, look back at the Sven days. He could bring something to the squad (hopefully) but I think people are getting a little carried away and thinking were signing Cambiasso still in his prime. I don't want him to come in and upset the harmony of the squad as feel we have a good balance within the team with a desire to play for each other, could his bigger ego and bigger wage upset this? How? Nobody on here really is getting carried away looking at Cambiasso at age 34. But many fans realize that as a defensive midfielder, he still brings a lot to any (promoted) team - vision, stability, experience, leadership qualities and maybe even a knack for a decisive pass. What do you think happened after the Ulloa signing? Did that upset the dressing room, too? Doesn't look to me from the outside and after that 2-2 draw with Everton in particular. We did sign a couple of rotten apples in years past, but I do trust this management team to bring out the best in people, including former (and leading) Serie A players such as Cambiasso. Besides, he's played 30 or more games for Inter every single season in the past six, seven years - plus dozens of Champions League and Europa League matches. That's hardly past it. That's boss.
Finnegan Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Alex, translate the above. Sorry, **** that, noticed it's Spanish not Italian.
Fox 4 Life Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Think it’s time to move on from this 34 year old diva, this reminds me of the LeBron James “decision” in the NBA a few years ago it’s embarrassing! Lewis Holtby would be a great addition and Spurs are shopping him now
ATLFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Lewis Holtby would be a great signing. Personally I think he would love it at Leicester, I think he's the type of player that performs when he knows he's loved by a club, like his time at Schalke they loved him there and he put 100% in every game, scored some good goals too

Jace Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Shows again though how far we have come when he is considering an offer of £5 million for 2 years from us and €6 billion for 2 years from Athletico Madrid I know which 1 I would choose
copunk Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 cambiasso in a citeh shirt excites me, however this is turning into the most boring transfer rumours/speculation in history

lcfcsnow Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I think if he wanted to play for us he'd have been here by now. Surprised Pearson hasn't pulled out of it as that's often said as most important in signing a player.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 All the doubters of cambiasso. The team that beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to the title and also had a solid champions league run are being linked with him. He's considering his options.... Shows how far we have come as someone said earlier. Shame though as Spain is a beautiful place to live. Hopefully his time at Real Madrid will leave a sour taste in his mouth and he now hates paella so Spain's off the cards!

Surprised Pearson hasn't pulled out of it as that's often said as most important in signing a player.Maybe he is just trying to sort out a decent school for his kids, or a house that his Mrs is happy with?Pearson wont sign someone that doesn't want to be here and wouldn't still be chasing him if he had any thoughts otherwise.

Could be wrong though
Carlos88LCFC Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 i think that remark was a piss take at the reported 6 billion euros being offered by Madrid. Could be wrong though Think it's 6 million from the little Spanish I know. "Milliones" is pretty much all I know.

Benji Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 The internet has made people so impatient! Fans are getting so worked up by random reports and random forum posts that Cambiasso is in the wrong for considering his options
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 All those players either play in USA or Italy where quality and pace are a lot slower because they can't keep up with the pace of prem. Out of all those players I'd only say that Pirlo would still be an impact signing on a team as his got vision and dictates the tempo of a game So (theoretically speaking, obviously) you wouldn't want Francesco Totti if he pitched up at Belvoir Drive tomorrow screaming "sign me on reasonable wages, Nige!"
Vossen Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Let's face it, if he fancied city he would have put pen to paper by now...better teams have tempted him away...move on
Jace Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Let's face it, if he fancied city he would have put pen to paper by now...better teams have tempted him away...move on Sad but true
Benji Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 No it's not. I've recently accepted a new job. Did I accept it before waiting to hear from the other two I interviewed with? No, I'm not an idiot. What matters is where he ends up - if he goes somewhere else then yes he doesn't want to come here.
