Bamba's Babes Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I liked the idea of a red kit and I think it is a solid 7/10 but the black bit at the top looks silly. The gold kit is very shiny and uncomfortable to me but looks good. Would prefer black with blue sash or green with stripes.
Raw Dykes Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 They're both sort of ok I suppose. It's so weird to see a red Leicester kit, but at least it's about the furthest you can get from last season's grey kit. I just hope we don't get another red kit for decades after this one. I worry we'll be doing a Cardiff.
Samilktray Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I'd probably be a bigger fan of that gold kit if it didn't look like a carbon copy of the Leeds away kit. The red however is a thing of beauty and will be purchased.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Thought that was an official shoot and we'd signed Gervinho (Gerv the Perv to close friends) then
Guest Bilo Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Why would we 'do a Cardiff?' We haven't 'done a Leeds' when we've had white away kits in the past, or indeed when red was a staple away colour for nigh on two decades. It's a nice nod to our history and a far better kit than the cheap looking gold. The whole point of an away kit is that it looks as different to the home colours as possible, else what's the point? That means we sometimes end up wearing colours we associate with other clubs. It isn't some great conspiracy.
Voll Blau Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 NOT red. blue is the colour. White kit should of been the away kit, gold for 3rd strip . What a colour scheme that is down in the ground sitting next to red shirt no thanks go on move somewhere else plz blue is the colour up the city. We can hardly wear a BLUE away kit can we? And quoting a fvcking Chelsea song twice is a great way to prove your point in any case. Don't like the shade of gold, happy with a bit of Red Leicester.
Fox92 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Some people are unbelievable. Doing a "Cardiff", a "Forest", a "Leeds". Jesus.
Kent Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Would have much preferred to swap out the gold for white, might look different in the flesh but not really a fan going off the photo. I'd actually also prefer it if an away kit colour scheme was set in stone like the home kits are so that they are the same colour every year.

stevelcfc Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Jesus, the red looks good, its been part of our history before so why not bring it back? It doesn't turn us into forest just because we'll wear it for a few (not all) away games. We will wear the home kit at most away games so chill out. The gold is hideous though!

Guest seanfox778 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I don't even know when we'd wear the red kit, no prem team would clash with gold I don't think.
Kitchandro Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 The designs are decent enough, nothing horrific without being anything special. As for the colours, I actually think the red looks really nice. The blue badge on the red looks really good for some reason. I'm still not keen on the gold at all, not a good looking colour and not very traditional. White would have bee much nicer and would have given us more of a reason to actually have a 3rd kit (since some teams actually play in blue and white, who plays in blue and gold stripes?)
BlueSi13 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Not a fan of either. If we're going to make a red kit (shudder, never seen a Leicester side wear red in my life) make it a homage to our classic kits. The gold kit just blows out of its arse. IMO our primary away kit should ALWAYS be black with a turquoise sash

White's our secondary colour, so you can't seriously compare it to a colour like red, which we have next to no association with, but is a very popular choice with a lot of clubs. And we did "do a Leeds" one season, didn't we? Nearly all clubs have a blue, red or white home kit, so it's very easy to pick a colour that people won't associate with another club. Maybe it's not rational, but I don't like to see us in red, as it sets a precedent. If it sells well, people get ideas. One season, we'll be wearing red at home, and the owners (whoever they might be at the time)will say, "What are you complaining about? You love a red kit! Look at these sales charts."

BlueSi13 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 How do you all think it will sell? I personally reckon apart from a few hipsters, I don't think they will sell many at all. But I have been wrong before.
AKCJ Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 No idea why you'd want either of these horrific efforts ahead of the home kit. Both have just been slung together. The gold one doesn't look right at all.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I would like the gold if it had the same collar as the red shirt and the black/navy on the sleeves didn't go all the way round the bottom. not overly keen on a red shirt TBH Was really hoping they did a black kit again or a white one.

The owners/marketing team will know that different colours will sell, purely for uniqueness, everyone will have a white away kit, but something different like Red or Grey or creamy gold will sell because it is different, if they do another red away kit next season it won't sell as well because it is no longer different, so I predict a green and yellow away kit next season. Or pink with yellow polka dots. The fact it is a little controversial will help it sell, as those that like it will love it to prove those that are saying it looks like Forest are being idiots.
