C-man Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Invisible Man today, just not good enough. Couldn't wait to post that could you?
lgfualol Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 He makes me appreciate Drinkwater's impact this season.
NoFuchsGiven Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Yes king didn't have his best game today but you can't just knock him. Albrighton, Vardy, Okazaki, Mahrez all poor today.
Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Best player on the pitch today. Â G'won Andy.
Littletoe Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Miles away from Drinkwater / Kante's level this season. Clearly hasn't made the step up that others have made, but anyone with a footballing brain knew that would be the case anyway. Some of you just let loyalty over-ride critical thinking. He couldn't feed any dangerous balls to our attack today, nor think 1 step ahead of the Liverpool defence/midfield. Just being honest, still love and respect the lad.
Devonfox1884 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The man has been with us through thick and thin, wears his heart in his sleeve and absolutely loves the club and it's supporters, yet some can't wait to jump on his back at the first opportunity. He had a bad game yes, one of his worst ever IMO, but cut him some slack and have some respect for the guy.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 We love a good scapegoat don't we. Was poor along with most the team, can't blame one person we were poor all round. He's probably not as technically gifted as drinky, but we've always known that.
Guest Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 We lost the game in midfield today - and it wasn't kanté.
ScouseFox Posted 26 December 2015 Author Posted 26 December 2015 invisible and had our two best chances. two chances more than vardy, okazaki, kante and albrighton had between them. he's so invisible he pops up in the box and twice nearly gets us a point. the invisible dickhead.Â
MooseBreath Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 We're turning up to anfield expecting to get something from the game but king, sadly, just isn't at that level. He was the obvious weak link today.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Lovea good scapegoat. We lose our first game in months and everyone is desperate to pin it on some one. Can't we accept defeat anymore without resorting to slagging someone off? The whole team was poor but he certainly wasn't the worst player.
daddylonglegs Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Overheard someone saying today that King 'had been shit in League 1, shit in the championship and he's shit now' I just don't understand people
Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Overheard someone saying today that King 'had been shit in League 1, shit in the championship and he's shit now' I just don't understand people You can't make it up can you? Â Some people don't even know they're born.
Fox92 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 He isn't the driving force Drinkwater is. Â Doesn't make King a bad player because quite obviously he isn't.
Len Finsbury Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 invisible and had our two best chances. two chances more than vardy, okazaki, kante and albrighton had between them. he's so invisible he pops up in the box and twice nearly gets us a point. the invisible dickhead.   Strikers can afford to be invisible all game and then pop up with the chances, midfielders cannot.  He certainly didn't get a grip on that central midfield area today

Not really looking for a scapegoat because there were several poor performance but King was clearly the worst player on the pitch. I'm not big on using dry stats to assess performances but his pass completion was less than 50% which for a central midfielder is diabolical. He offered no protection to the defence as he was constantly bypassed and was poor going forward, the pinnacle being when he received the ball on the edge of the box and had several passes on and was in a good position to shoot but instead looped the ball nowhere near the goal, nowhere near any of our players and straight out for a goal kick. It was a terrible performance from King today.
TJB-fox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Kante made a few good tackles but overall was poor so can't just be King that should be taking slack, he was part of a midfield that completely overrun and dominated
inckley fox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 It's silly to discount King, but it is true that many of the question marks that hung over him in the second tier were very, very relevant today. To be fair, he's surprised me in the top flight because I felt that, like Hammond early in 2014-15, he'd shown himself to be useful cover. Yet there's no papering over how costly his performance was today, and in a relatively lacklustre team display he was outstandingly poor. I'm sorry to say that effort and determination had a lot to do with it too; it was noticeable how half-hearted his attempts to track back, close down or go in for 50-50s were, and he did next to nothing to make himself available for the short ball. Â I doubt he'll get the chance to put in many more displays like that and the decision to give him the full 90 minutes implies a lack of faith in Inler. But, even though he was a guy who wasn't always clearly first choice when we were in the Championship, I still feel it's far too harsh to write him off. Slate him, yes, he fully deserves that for today, and drop him - definitely, no doubt about that - but I wouldn't extend that criticism to an all-out dismissal of his credentials.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I love King but he was seriously bad today. It's a good job he had Kante next to him else things could have been much worse
Len Finsbury Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Kante made a few good tackles but overall was poor so can't just be King that should be taking slack, he was part of a midfield that completely overrun and dominated   I thought Kante played better than Kingy, at least in attempting to control the midfield. It was Kante's distribution that let him down.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Real servant to the club but was absolutely crap today. Did not even see him for the first 30 minutes. After that ran around like an headless chicken. Not good enough today I am afraid. not good enough for a run pf consistent games starting.
TJB-fox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I thought Kante played better than Kingy, at least in attempting to control the midfield. It was Kante's distribution that let him down.Yeah he was better for sure but if King is getting criticised so heavily then Kante should also, he gave the ball away too much today, way too much.
Grewks Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Yeah he was better for sure but if King is getting criticised so heavily then Kante should also, he gave the ball away too much today, way too much. Â But was that not a result of him having to do everything? Â Â Only saw the match of a stream, but IMO we had the best and worst midfielder on the pitch today. Â Â Kante won so so much, and due to King running around looking lost, he also had to attempt to do the 'drinky' side, and be creative. He gave it away a few times, but his attacking game today was even superior to mahrez/vardy.
MooseBreath Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Yeah he was better for sure but if King is getting criticised so heavily then Kante should also, he gave the ball away too much today, way too much. Kante made the most passes and had the highest pass completion rate (84%) of any outfield Leicester player today. Only Sakho and Lovren for the scousers had a better pass completion than Kante.
