Bloody hell do you wipe King's arse as well

King's problem is the system Ranieri plays compared with the one Pearson finished with and which played to his strengths.

King is a short, fast passer who generally and relies on players moving off and around him. Drinkwater naturally looks longer.

King is a greater threat than Drinkwater as an attacker and far more useful aerially in defence or attack but Drinkwater gets his head up more and sees the pictures more widely.

Playing three at the back King could use his strengths quite naturally but he doesn't cope well in a two-man central midfield and never really has because he's too one-paced and that pace isn't fast at the best of times.

His dilemma is that Ranieri will never forsake four at the back so his chances of starting will be limited. Perhaps time for a move come the end of the season.

King is poor at this level, he was great in league one.  Had his best season in the championship we finished 8th or 9th, he will not make 50 starts for any premiership team so we

know he has been a great servant for our club but as we progress he will not play he has a contract because Nigel extended it!  However he also extended Konchesky so that doesn't mean King is a good player, at this level Premier League Polyfilla !!  He is really good at pointing just watch him when he plays, he thinks about tackling and others actually do it!

Andy King is the only player that when I read trash talk about, I get genuinely angry.

Rarely has a player showed such commitment, passion and loyalty to our club.

Model professional in every way imaginable and rarely lets us down when he gets on the pitch.

Love Kingy. Love Life.

I tried to put into words my anger at some comments in this thread earlier but I gave up. Looks like you did it for me here, top post.

Its been mentioned a few times, over the seasons, but if or when we need a plan B, or C.If not using him in plan A.

I would have King playing a more attacking position, from midfield but then you either bench,

Albrighton, or Shinji/Ulloa.It would give Kante, and DD more space.

To be honest, I dont think Claudio has ever considered it.

I always thought, he could be our, Ramsey of Arsenal, with those driving runs.

This season he seems he is too deep, when called upon.

People write him off, then he comes back and proves them wrong. Then after a little while they forget their previous mistake and they write him off again. And he comes back and proves them wrong.

You'd have thought they'd have got bored of being proved wrong by now but obviously not...

If Andy King transforms into a player capable of playing consistently in a two man central midfield at premier league top-4 standard then as God as my witness I will admit that I've been somewhat hasty in my assessment of the man.

His loyalty is great, though being honest I can't recall a time when he has ever been offered a better role at a bigger club so it has never really been tested. But ultimately it's about ability. My mate Reg has been going down the city since the 1950s. He's as a loyal as it gets. Would I stick him in central midfield? No. He's 85 years old. He's loyal to the club, but that doesn't mean I want him anywhere near the starting line up.

Kante and Drinkwater haven't been playing in a two-man midfield. Shinji's been playing there with them. Against Liverpool Shinji made 14 passes, of which just six found their mark and was nowhere to be seen in what was a footballing Battle of the Alamo. Nor was he the slightest threat as a striker.

There are no two players at Leicester capable of coming out top when outnumbered in central midfield by half-decent opposition as Kante and King experienced against Liverpool.

Yes, King had a poor game. His normally accurate passing too often went astray through both his own error and the absence of people presenting themselves with any space around them.

But King made more than twice the passes of Shinji and a fair few more than everyone else outside the back four apart from Kante. Why? Because Liverpool had been so fiercely trained they swamped midfield and were first to everything, everywhere.

We lost 1-0 at Anfield in the face of one of the most committed assaults I've seen from any team in the Premiership this season. But no matter what blinkers you wear it wasn't all down to Andy King. In fact he twice went nearest to saving us a point.

The reasons to me were simple. Vardy's fever meant we started with 10 fit men. Shinji was left in no-man's land as neither a striker nor the central midfield supporter he needed to be.

Albrighton and Mahrez were rarely given an inch (their stats tell the story) and our outnumbered central midfield pair were rarely given time to pick a pass, and even when they were, the options were usually so well marked it would always be a 50-50 ball.

It might have helped on this occasion if we'd had attacking full-backs to find some space but, for all their competence, they've never been that.

So, basically, we were snookered because, without Vardy taking the attention of two defenders as usual, Mahrez had next to no chance of escaping his shackles and there was scant opportunity for anyone else to find space against the fast-pressing Liverpool troops. We needed 11 men and Shinji supporting King and Kante in central midfield.

Criticisms of individuals miss the point. Ranieri was out thought by Klopp, who got his tactics spot on.

Wenger won the tactical battle in another way earlier in the season.Others might be aware of the threat we offer but other than these two none have managed to set their team up to counter that threat.

Perhaps they should concentrate on setting up their teams to beat the "little teams" too.

Last time I checked we were doing better than them with 1 game to go to the halfway mark.

Like him for his loyalty, but sadly we are a weaker side when he's in.

Sorry, he's been here his whole career, but we have better players now, but if he's happy being a squad player, that's the best he can expect.

Pretty clear he is happy being a squad player from the last 2.5 seasons.

I know that, but next season, if we look at progressing, I doubt he will make the bench.

That's where I will feel for him, he's been loyal to the club, but may want to play regular, and I feel that's elsewhere.

Depends what you mean by 'playing regular', he's made 14 appearances this season, it's not like he's been dropped completely.

Kingy will stay in the squad like he has always done because he keeps his head down and focuses on getting into the side. He is very professional and adaptive and that's why he's survived for so long under different managers.

Hope your right, in this day and age of mercenaries in football, always nice to see a player spend his career at one club.
